and definitely speak with your manager - it can't hurt and she'll be aware in case a position on days opens up.

nursing confessional
I just came off nights and evenings - while I was very grateful to get the shifts (I also live in an area where jobs are scarce) I absolutely hated it also. I felt pretty much as you did - slept way more than I should have been, short-tempered and foggy feeling ALL the time. I think some people are just not able to adapt themselves to these shifts, I know I wasn't. I was able to get a full time position today with day shift hours and I'm looking forward to getting out of my funk . Since nights are harder to fill then days I would imagine you'll have to stick it out until July but I would keep looking elsewhere too in case something does come up. Good luck!

Ventilator training/classes
Does anyone in the Hudson Valley area of NY know of any ventilator training classes? I'm seeking agency work (as that is all that is available in my area) and without this experience I'm not being considered for jobs that I am otherwise qualified for, I'm hoping that some training would open the door to some more interviews. Any advice/information would be greatly appreciated - thanks!

3 to 5 days training enough in ltc?
My first job as a nurse was in LTC - 3 days training, 1st day "following", 2nd day the preceptor made me do it all and by the 3rd day I was totally on my own. It was scary but I learned a lot and quickly LOL. Ask questions (please!), pay attention to the 5 right's and you'll be fine! Paperwork and prioritizing come with time, but you'll get the hang of it.
