APU 2+2 Spring 2017
Hi there! I'm excited but I think that's being overtaken by me being scared out of my mind!! I bought some off of amazon (saved a couple hundred) and then I'm driving to the bookstore tomorrow at the main campus to purchase the bundle. I contacted the registrar so I don't have to take the nutrition class so I was able to save from purchasing that book. Did you see the email about the reading for next week? So far this experience feels as though it's going to be life changing in so many aspects. I've already connected with more people than I would've anticipated. The prior cohort have been really amazing!! It really feels like we are all in this together.

APU 2+2 Spring 2017
I felt really good about my interview. I think it went well. I was given the same information stated above as well as information on where clinicals will be held and a bit of a breakdown in regards to what each semester will look like. She informed me that there is a mandatory orientation in December and to prepare items that are needed for there after that will pertain to the background checks that are needed for the hospitals. I hope everyone's interviews went well.

How did you do it?
Here is a little trick I use for when my mind wanders when I am trying to read or study. I ANNOTATE!! It does wonders for me; it actually helps me to retain the information as well. But mostly it keeps my brain actively involved in the reading.

How did you do it?
I think it varies by person. If you have the will to succeed then your maturity isn't an issue at all. You need to be able to understand that you are setting this goal for yourself and at times you may want to quit but you must remember that nothing in life that is worth while is ever easy; it makes it that much sweeter when you graduate. Nursing is a very rewarding profession and you will never regret the time you have put in. I have two children and it is indeed difficult. I get fantastic grades, thats not the issue. Where my issue lies is that I feel I am being selfish for finally taking the time to do something for myself. However, that being said, I believe it makes me a better mother. I love my children dearly but there are times when one just needs to use their brain and get adult interaction. It is hard to juggle schoolwork when I am home but it gets done; I just loose a little sleep. My advice for you is really to stick with it and do it while you are young. You have more available time and less stresses to interfere with your studying. You can do it! Just have faith and put in the hard work!!!

RN Completion / ADN to BSN. How long? Who did it?
I have hopes of higher learning but decided to go the ADN route first. All of the hospitals I am looking into have an education reimbursement program therefore, it will pay for all of my continuing education with the exception of mileage. (pretty good deal if I say so) Good thing to look into once you graduate and get working.
