  1. Hello, I just applied to "The College Network" and I was wondering if anyone knew of anyone who attended and was successful or if anyone can tell me a little bit about the school. I haven't heard much about this online college but it sounds great. It's the LPN to BSN program that I signed up for but I haven't started everything yet. I'm still making my decision but I wanted some feed back if possible. Please help me decide, Thanks.
  2. Hello All, I enrolled in Indiana State University online program just a couple of days ago. Can anyone who applied or graduated there tell me how there online LPN to BSN program is? I looked up there information on the nursing accrediation website and noticed that they received a warning for Spring 2014. I called the nursing accrediation and they informed me that they received a warning for 2 out of 6 things and a final review will be in July. I also called the representative of Indiana State and they explained that they did receive a warning but they are now fine for the next 8 years and it will be posted in July on the accrediation website. Do you think I should withdraw from the school or wait until July and see what is posted on the nursing accrediation website. Help me please someone!!!
  3. I'm about to enroll in the LPN program after failing the RN program and I had a couple of questions for those who are LPN's or are currently enrolled in the LPN program. I've been trained for a couple of semesters on how to be a RN nurse but I don't know too much about the scope of an LPN. What is the difference between an LPN and a RN when it comes to their capabilities. I recently brought an LPN book but it's no different than what's in a RN book. You seem to learn the same material so what's the difference? Also is it really hard to find a job as an LPN (so I've heard) and is the pay good? I'm at a place of confusion so can someone please help me out:bugeyes:
  4. I feel like I'm looking in a mirror. You are me. I too have been through the something you are going through now. I failed out of my nursing program and now I'm trying to pick up the pieces and continue. I'm thinking about the doing it again (RN program at another school) or do the LPN program, but I'm confused. But my heart is telling me to do the RN again but I have to build myself up because my self-esteem is low. I really wish you the best and pray that you do well.
  5. I really appreciate your comments it meant a lot. I'm struggling with a lot right now and it has been a roller coaster because I've been in a nursing program an made it to the 4th class and had only 1 more to go but because in the past I repeated a class I can't continue. The 4th class I missed by 2 points so I can't continue (I was removed from the nursing program). It was heart breaking but I've picked myself up and now looking to continue. My only problem is whether I start from the beginning again or do the LPN program. I've heard many say that it isn't worth doing the LPN so I'm very confused. I don't want to do this whole thing over but I want to be a nurse so bad. I wake up every day thinking about it and feeling sad at what happen but I know I can't give up because I've come so far. I've applied to a couple of schools and they won't take any of my nursing courses and on top of that I have to retake some pre-reqs over because they are too old to transfer. It sucks big time. What would you do in my shoes?
  6. I appreciate your kind words and it really means a lot. I will continue; I've come to far to stop now. Thanks again, and I will pray for you while you go through your journey.
  7. Hello All, this is my first time joining and I was wondering if I could get some advice on making the hardest decision of my life. But first let me tell you my story. I was in a BSN program;but before the semester started I had my daughter on August 2nd and my first nursing class started the end of August. I was determined to continue so I did. I was fine the first couple of months but when I went back to work (because I was on maternity leave) it became ruff. My grades began to slip and I received a failing grade and couldn't continue. I didn't give up so I applied to a two year college and went for my RN and that was a 5 semester program, but the 2nd semester I had to repeat and we all know you can only repeat once. After that I did well and made it to the 4th semester (Peds and OB) and this was where the problem came in. That semester was split into two, Peds first than OB. I did well with Peds but when we switched over to OB I did horrible and because OB was at the end of the semester it was too late for me to drop the class. So because of the two failing OB test I received I was let go from there nursing program. So here is the problem because of how my transcript looks (with the BSN program and now the RN program failure) it's hard applying to other schools. I've come to far to stop (with only needing one my class to graduate) so what can I do. I've spoken to many people in the nursing profession and it's been pretty much difficult. I've thought about doing the LPN program but I'm hearing that it would be a waste of time because It's hard to find a job as an LPN. I've called a couple of schools and applied to a few but nothing positive yet. What do I do? I have so much knowledge and I want this so bad. I'm married with 3 kids (my daughter was my last) and it's been extremely hard. I feel like a failure in so many ways and every day I go to work I'm reminded of the pain each day because I work in a hospital. I go home crying most of the time and I'm not my self any more because of all that has happened. So, now I'm lost needing some serious advice. Can someone who has been in my shoes or knows someone in my situation give me some advice? What should I do? Please help!!!!!
