  1. Is the scholarship a 1 or 2 year work commitment?
  2. For those going to start the program in January I just wanted to give you positive feedback getting a ”B” in process 1 is possible! You can do it, it takes hard work but you can do it!
  3. No choice is given we are all together...1 lecture professor and lab professor is the same, clinical instructor will be chosen for you.
  4. I had lots of negative feelings in the beginning...but after realizing that HARD WORK really does pay off I feel more positive and I really like it! I agree that it is an emotional rollercoaster, so ask me next week and my answer might be completely different! :-) All in all, I recommend BC North 100%!
  5. Thanks for your kind words. I feel good about the material I am reading but I got lost in the numbers for a minute. I am back on track now! :-)
  6. Does anyone feel discouraged about the number of students in our process 1 class? At North we have about 125! I feel like the idea is for that number to drastically decreased.
  7. I think your instructor will provide the course ID.
  8. Shame on you Broward College...finish what you start!
  9. I asked which campus you are attending because I wanted to make sure to give you the appropriate advice. I am attending north campus and we will not use the med/surg book. I am not sure about south... but something tells me, at this point, it will be the same as north campus.
  10. Thanks for sharing, I really appreciate this. I think it answers my question and is very informative.
  11. Thank you for your post...I agree some of the responses to my post is exactly what I am talking about.
  12. I almost said something to this effect because I have heard many physicians say this...but I didn't because I don't think it is accurate...not yet anyway!
  13. I recognize that I will have to overlook the negativity and starting here will be a good place. Thanks!
  14. I said ”Nurse” in a general sense because I can't tell who is who unless stated.
  15. I start NS next week and I truly hope the negativity on this site is NOT representative of the field.
  16. A nurse asking a new Nurse, who just got fired, how did you graduate if your skills suck? This is not supportive but these kind of comments are all over this site. I feel it's uncalled for...kicking others while they are down! In regards to this comment-You're painting this site with a pretty broad brush. I stated in my OP that this behavior is not everyone and I thanked those who are supportive.
  17. I can't quite understand it. Nursing students, pre-nursing students and Nurses come here for support and advice but unfortunately they are greeted with a bunch of negativity and discouraged by fellow Nurses. We are professionals. I know it makes it easy to say negative things because you're hiding behind your computer but this is childish behavior. I understand this behavior is not everyone. I would like to thank those who have been supportive of myself and others.
  18. I apologize this happened to you. God Bless you and I wish you the best.
  19. What campus are you attending?
  20. This is in Florida.
  21. This is in Florida.
  22. Let me explain...a CNA can obtain a med-tech certificate which allows them to assist with self administered medications. So yes they pass meds but it's meds that are self administered and this can only be done in a nursing home or patients home.
  23. I have the eighth edition of the fundamentals and seventh edition of the skills book.
