I'm 40 and going into the RN program in the fall at my local CC. I will be 42 when I'm done. I've been back part time for 2 years now doing all my pre-req's at night or online. I was very nervous going back to school because I was never much of a student in my younger years. I totally agree that I could never have done this when I was younger and tell people all the time that if I finished school back in 1990/91, I wouldn't be then what I'm going to be now! I'm LOVING being in school, words you would never have heard from me back in the day! :) Good luck to all of you! :)

Thank you for all of the replies. I had my Orientation on Tuesday, everything will be fine. I had the full series in 2009 so they aren't worried about it. She said her gut feeling is that because I'm so close, I will be immune at the next Titer. If not, she said to get the second shot and we will go from there. However, if I hadn't gotten any shots or was in the middle of my first series and wouldn't be done before September, that would be grounds for being dismissed from the program. She said you HAVE to have proof of a full series PRIOR to September. Of course, this is at my school. It may differ at other schools if you are actually in the process of getting the series. Hi everyone, I'm new to this board and will HOPEFULLY be entering the Nursing program in the fall at our local Community College. I say "hopefully" because I'm accepted, but just got my Hep B Titer and it came back negative. Anything less than 10 is negative and mine is 9.21! I got to Booster today so now I have to wait 6 weeks to know if I'll be in or not. If it comes back negative again, I do not have time to get the full series done again, as I have to have a + titer recorded before I can begin in the fall. I'm just beside myself right now. The doctor's office was supposed to do this titer back in May of '11 when they did my Varicella and MMR titers. I thought they did, they called and said everything was "fine" but never said anything more, and sent my record to the school. Until I got my Orientation Checklist and called the office to double check and make sure everything was on my Physical form did I find out it wasn't actually done. I figured I had nothing to worry about since I had the series done in 2009. What are the odds the Booster will up my levels enough to pop positive in 6 weeks? Sorry for the babbling, I'm a little freaked out right now. Krista
