  1. I found marg Fitzgerald's CDs to be very helpful. I also use Leik FNP certif. review questions book and NP certification questions, 3rd edition (purple book) by Margaret Fitzgerald. I had no problem passing ANCC. I think, all of the above is more than enough for you to pass. Yes, lots of ethical and research questions on ANCC exam , but they were straight forward. Good luck!
  2. Thank you! If you happen to recall any particular sites, pls let me know! :)
  3. Hi, it has been almost one year since I have become certified as an FNP. I cannot believe it....!!!! Slowly getting used to my "fate" as an NP in family practice, LOL! Luckily, I can use Uptodate for all my NON-PHARM CMEs but what about 75 hrs of PHARM CMEs???? Does any one have suggestions re: how to obtain it (Hopefully without paying $$$)? I have seen ANCC offering webinars for above that cost about $150, but i have maxed out my $ for CMEs allowance at work, and, being a cheapskate, I do not want to pay out of pocket. Many Thanks in advance!
  4. Hi, Thank you for tips re: negotiating. Yes, I am new grad... I will still try to negotiate and hear what they say. They did not tell me the number of patients I am expected to see during interview, but assured me that I will not be made overwhelmed and pushed beyond my limits. Some of my friends are skeptical re: this statement... So, "Ask and you shall receive...." hopefully thanks a million again, 1newfnp
  5. Hi I am wondering of anyone has an opinion on terms of the contract: the good (in my opinion ): License/certification fees (full pay) CMEs ($1500), DEA (full pay) Malpractice paid for 3 weeks paid vacation plus 1 week of paid educational activity health insurance (full \pay). questionable: 2 year term of contract, salary below local 10th percentile monthly call with no additional pay Stupid question: are these contracts negotiable? Thanks in advance!!!!! 1newfnp
  6. Thanks for all replies!
  7. Hi thanks for suggestions. I am in NY. Often, the employer will pay for DEA ($700) from what I understand. SO, I do not want to get it just yet.... 1newFNP
  8. Check out salary.com. it gives you range of salaries in your zip code. pretty neat!
  9. Hi all, just got my brand spanking new FNP license (yay!!!!) and looking for work. Does anyone know at what point to apply for NPI # and script pad? Can I apply now or wait till I get hired? I am in NY BTW, if that's helpful. Thanks a million! 1newfnp
