Please Help: Chaminade University of Honolulu
I say go for it and welcome I am in the first graduating class (class of 2014) and love it so far. The teachers are highly knowledgable and love teaching. I have faith that the program will be accredited. We had our first clinical Spring 2012 (sophomore year) and our dean was surprised because of the knowledge that we have at this level already. The dean said that our clinical sites were calling her to let her know that we were very knowledgeable and willing to learn in comparison to other nursing schools they accommodate and that they enjoyed having us at their site. Also because of how much we know we were allowed to do certain skills that junior and senior nursing students are allowed to do I hope this helps and again welcome to the nursing program.

Nursing Med-Surg Clinical
Help...... I am signed up for evening Med-Surg Clinical on Wednesdays, which are from 3p-1130pm my drive two and from my clinical site is a good 30-45 min. drive one way. The following day (Thursday) I have my Med-Surg Lecture at 8am my morning commute from home to school if I leave the house by 5:40am is about 30-45 minutes. I like to get to school before 6:20am because of parking. So basically my plea for advice is what is the best way for sleep or will i get sleep, if I finish clinical at 11:30pm probably get home by 12:15am, shower and get everything packed for Thursday by 12:45, and sleep by 1am only to get up at 5:15am thursday. Should I beg to change my clinical time? Should I keep my schedule? How do you guys stay up? The BIG PLUS' of keeping this evening schedule are --the clinical instructor hires half of the hospital, which allows this clinical for a good rapport --the clinical instructor is very knowledgable --the clinical site for this evening clinical time is at a major hospital, a magnet hospital, and also this site is highly recommended to do clinical at

PALS and ACLS question
Hi Im currently a third year nursing student in Hawaii and just finished my Fundamental Clinical Rotation on a Progressive Care Unit and will be doing my Med-surg and Maternity/Peds rotations this coming school year. I currently have my BLS and I was wondering when I should or when I can do my ACLS and PALS course and get certified? Should I do it this summer so I can be ACLS and PALS certified before school starts or do it this winter so I am at least PALS certified by January 2013. I plan on becoming a Pediatric Emergency Nurse. Thanks
