  1. I also received them DG. Completely painless.
  2. As one on the receiving end I want IM injections given to me in the DG site. If a nurse wants to use the VG location and won't accommodate me then I'll refuse the shot. New practice or not I enter into the decision especially since the DG location has been around since the beginnings of IM injections.
  3. I'm glad you brought that up. Personally I prefer to get all of my IM injections in my DG site. When I ask the nurse what size needle they are using often they say 1". I'm then in an awkward situation of asking her to use a 1 1/2" needle.
  4. From a patient perspective I prefer to have all of my shots given in the dorsogluteal location. No way I would want it in the ventrogluteal location. Personal preference.
