Hello Everyone, I'm hoping someone who works or has previously worked at Lehigh Valley Hospital can help me. So I applied into the critical care nurse residency program but I was offered a med/surg position. They said this was because they did not have any more slots open in the critical care residency for November start date. I really want to end up in the ICU and I'm wondering how soon can I transfer. On average that is.....Is anyone familiar with this process? They said my training for med/surg will be 10-12 weeks total.

Ohk. Thanks! That was helpful! Yes I did in my senior year, I had all the preqs but didn't have my bachelors yet so they didn't accept my application and told me to resend it when I graduate. I graduate this May and they'll consider it if there are any spots open. But I doubt there'll be considering how cheap the program is compared to other accelerated programs in PA.

Your GPA is not bad at all and you still have at least one more semester to push it up a bit. My advice to you would be to really work on getting mostly As &Bs in your prereqs because that's what counts the most! If you had Cs in A&P,Micro then take them again.

Hey sinbadx81, I've heard a lot of great thing about Villanova's program from people who went there as well as my own research compared to other schools. They really won me over when I went in for my interview in terms of the curriculum, professors and services they have to offer to their students. 14 months its ideal for me because I don't want to feel overwhelmed or "left on my own" in the middle of the program. Yes it is not affiliated with a major hospital but TRUST ME that it does not mean anything. In today's world everything is about who you know and how good your networks are!!
