Anyone ever get their license back after revocation?
Hi All, First, thanks for the comforting words and encouragement. Second, what is the difference between suspension of your license and surrender? Is surrender more permanent? Thanks!

Anyone ever get their license back after revocation?
Hi All!! What a fantastic site. I stumbled upon you doing a google search. I am not working as an RN after they filed an accusation against me. It's a pretty good one and I did the deed (over medicated with ativan and drove the car into a ditch. Pled guilty to reckless drving). Now I have responded to their request for a administrative hearing, which is the first week of August 2012, briefly spoken with a lawyer. Can I negotiate a surrender of my license myself? any pitfalls to watch out for? This is is California.

How does your hospital deal with patient valuables/money??
I just admitted a patient last night and he says he had $200 more than we found in his wallet. Of course he immediately claimed we'd stolen it and said he'd sue us. We located over $1,400 but he claims more was there. Luckily there were 3 of us there when we discovered this large amount of cash and we can back each other up. This isn't the first time I've had issues and problems dealing with patient money. I was just wondering what other hospitals do when patients come in with large sums of money or what they claim is valuable jewelry. We use descriptive terms such as "gold color ring with white stone", etc. for jewelry because we don't know if it's real or not. Could be fake for all we know. We are not jewelers after all. Thanks for your input!!

Is it legal to write a order 4 months after you took it?
I work at a psych hospital and the order I wrote for a seclusion and restraint was misplaced. My DON is asking me to write a new one and have the MD sign it. I took this order over 4 months ago. What do you think? Am I splitting hairs? And how would I date it? Would I write the current date or the date of the occurrance? Thanks.

Snorting Wellbutrin, Seroqual, Paxil???
I was surprised to read in a correctional nursing thread that people are snorting seroquel, wellbutrin and paxil. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with this happening. What are the benefits for the abuser? Negatives? I cannot fathom any and am wondering what is up with this stuff. Thanks.
