I'd like to become a Hospice Nurse.
Thanks for the encouragement. Can you tell me how I might prepare and what to expect for an interview in this position? Since I became an RN I have worked in one place only. I love my Med/Surg job and hate to leave. Relocation can be a wonderful experience, but very scary for a new RN to be starting again. Thanks for your input.

What Is Your Most Gross, Yucky, Disgusting Nursing Horror Story?
undefinedundefined As I was assisting a patient out of her bed to the BR along with several of my fellow RN's she informed us that she felt like she was going to fall. I immediately locked my shoe against her foot so she would stop sliding and we could get a better grip on her situation. Well, she was indeed slip sliding away due to the fact that she was urinating down her legs and unfortunately right into my shoe. :uhoh21: I couldn't move due to she would fall and she just stood there and peed until she was finished. When she finished, she said "well, I guess we don't need to go to the BR now eh?" Someone asked me, why didn't you move your foot? I replied "it was already to late, and she would have fallen. I hate those fall reports worse than pee in my shoes I guess." Man I loved those Nike shoes.

Relocating the the Macon Area.
I can't thank you enough for this information. I have done my homework. My Mom lives in Byron and I have visited Macon, and Warner Robins. Didn't like either of them. Warner Robins refused to tell me the going rate for a new RN and Macon helped with the going rate but the parking for this facility sucks. I really liked Colisium. I am a 4 year Graduate RN ADN I know this is going to hurt me. But, I really want to go into oncology, or Hospice in this area.

I'd like to become a Hospice Nurse.
When I became a RN 4 years ago, my sister in law gave me that quote on a very beautiful 8x10 picture. I have treasured it ever since. Hospice is where I originally wanted to go when I became a RN, but I really believed I needed a good foundation first. I am moving to the Macon Georgia area in July of 2005 and will be seeking a position in visiting nursing or hospice. This is really my passion and after reading your post, I know it was meant to be. Thanks again. DSMCAR of Michigan

Relocating the the Macon Area.
I am relocating to Macon/Byron/Warner Robins area in July 2005. I would appreciate any and all help in locating a nice place to work. I am a Med/surg RN X4 years on a very heavy 38 bed unit. I don't know if I want to go back to this or do something new. Any suggestions around these areas?
