Hi BioD, I am going to start volunteering at a local hospital very soon (I have a meeting Wednesday). I am so anxious/excited to apply the anticipation is killing me! Do you know the average GPA for admitted students or have an idea of what some students had when they were accepted? If not, no worries, thanks for your help!

Thank you very much for your advice! I am currently working full time but will not be working while in an accelerated or basic BSN program, I know there is no way to do both and plan to focus solely on nursing. Again, thank you!

Hello All, I have been reading all of your posts as I will be applying to SBU for entrance in 2013. Do you have any suggestions as it seems that most of you were accepted. I have a 2.94 GPA from college and I just started taking the prequisite courses online. I work a full time job with no set hours so to take courses in person is going to be difficult but I know it is ideal. Please help! Thanks!

Hello current BSN students, I am looking for some insight into how you all got accepted into your respective accelerated BSN programs. I am currently taking an online biology course to get started on my prerequisites. I am looking at Stony Brook, Molloy and Adelphi although they all have different requirements. I am open to other schools on Long Island, as well, if anyone has any suggestions about those. My biggest fear is my GPA from my undgraduate school which was a 2.94. I received a B.S. in accounting in 2009. I currently work as an accountant and have been for the past 2.5 years so taking the prerequisite classes is proving to be difficult but I am very motivated and excited to change careers! Thank you all for your help, it is much appreciated!
