  1. hi bernbabybern820! what dept are you going to work in? just wondering cause i applied for a position in dept and am still waiting to hear from them
  2. thanks for the response! I applied for a position at INOVA a month ago at a differnt dept (not emergency) and i got an email from them that i wasn't selected for an interview; they let you know when they don't select you. argh. just hope i hear from them soon. looking for a job as a new grad is soo frustrating. >.
  3. hi lovnurs. i live in PG county too and i have been looking for a job for almost 2 months now. just wondering, have u found a job already?
  4. hi everyone! @circularstaircase i just want to know. did u take the job? i'm sort of in the same situation. i have an offer to work at a nursing home but i really REALLY want to work in a hospital. i have sent alot of applications to different dept of different hospitals but still got no response after a month. i worry that if i get the job offer and start working at the nursing home i might get a call from the hospitals i applied at. arghhh! i really can't decide on what to do right now! >.
  5. "hi everybody, i am a new grad rn who has been desperately trying to land my first acute care position. my goal is to work on a med/surg floor for a few years and eventually transition to icu. i graduated eight months ago and have since been aggressively job searching with no luck. i have an opportunity to work as an rn at a long term care facility. i have heard that once a nurse works in long term care, he/she will have a difficult time acquiring a position in a hospital. i am not sure if this is true or just a rumor i've been hearing along the way. i am worried that i have been out of work for too long as well... (eight months plus one year while in nursing school) has anyone found this to be true? is it better to get any rn experience? any input would be sooo appreciated!" i am going through the same dilemma right now. i'm not exactly a new grad rn since i graduated march of last year, moved to the states december then passed the nclex may this year. i've been applying like crazy since i passed the exam, still no job offer and i only had one interview where i wasn't selected. i also have an opportunity to work as an rn in a long term care facility, and i'm still contemplating on whether or not i would take the job or continue on waiting for a response from hospitals i applied at. >.
  6. Hello! Anyone out there who applied for the Emergency Dept New Grad Program with Inova? If so, have anyone heard from HR yet?
  7. really? wow. hope everything will be quick with my application as it was with you. thank you for letting me know @laila1219! :)
  8. thank you rgar98! i took d online quiz too. i hope i find a job soon. this is getting soo frustrating.
  9. Hi everyone! congratulations on the interviews and job offer! I am a new grad desperately looking for a job. Been applying everywhere for a month now. I was just wondering how you guys scored an interview with inova? Did you send an application online? or did you guys go in person to submit your resume, cover letter, etc.?
  10. Yea, it might be for the whole internship prog. oh well. i'm not keeping my hopes up, been applying everywhere i just hope i get a job offer anywhere! Btw, may i ask what other hospitals u applied at?
  11. So i called the HR and i think i didn't get the job. What the HR said is that they are waiting to hear from new grads if they passed the NCLEX and she asked me to call back in a week. So i guess some the new grads they selected haven't taken the NCLEX yet.
  12. wow. congratulations on the offer!
  13. i was waiting d whole day yesterday >.
  14. i sent an email to the nurse recruiter of GW inquiring about my application status and she said that she would hear from the management today, soo we're going to be informed soon. *fingerscrossed* awww. well i've started "job-hunting" last month hope it wont take too long to look for one. :| that's exactly how i feel right now, i am soo ready to work. i have been idle way too long cause i focused on the exam and just started looking for a job right after i learned that i passed. thanks for the info, am currently applying at any new grad openings! hope we get the job offer! :|
