Allowing Corpsman to Become Nurses
I am an RN with my BSN and MSN. It took me a long time to get there. I took the hard way becoming an LPN first then AAS RN, BSN and MSN.My son is a Corpsman FMF. He is able to run circles around any LPN (which have great technical abilities) and RN. I know I have been following his curriculum with my mouth open. Does he have the BS classes like Nursing History, chem, etc - NO. I proposed and have a Petition for "Corpsman to RN". Many people have signed from all across this country. I delivered the petition to a local politician. He was bringing it to Washington but not until I went over exactly what I proposed. A program by the government specifically geared to the Corpsman. They would know exactly what skills they have and what is needed to make them eligible for the board. It can be on an accelerated basis as these men and women are used to it. Let's face it we do not want to lose these capable young men and women to frustration dealing with an educational system that is seriously lagging. If you have a BS degree in anything you can go into an accelerated program for RN. These young men & women have mucho medical education that our government has paid for. Let's help them as we all know there is a nurse shortage and they do not have the advantage of leisurely waiting to be accepted.

Allowing Corpsman to Become Nurses
Interesting as an RN, BSN, MSN with son presently a Corpsman previously took care of new moms and newborns. Bloodworkon both, IV's, meds, etc., etc. I am impressed at the scope of their practice. My son is now FMF Corpsman and supersedes many RN's with his abilities and duties. Must also carry a gun/rifle with all of this.I am sorry I did not listen to the debate last night. I have a petition "Corpsman to RN" which many all over the country have signed. I gave it to my Senator and had to go through an hour or so justifying this. Next they promised me they were taking it to Washington. I figured they were politely sweeping it under the rug. Do you think I had something to do with the President mentioning this? Hmmmm I s ure hope so.

Navy Corpsman or Army Medics Challenging LVN BOARD
Yes, remember the answer is always what they think you should do, not necessarily what you do in the real world. Lol You will become good at answering for the test if you do question after question.

Navy Corpsman or Army Medics Challenging LVN BOARD
Hmmm I believe they were taken over by a co doing online questions. Cannot remember the name. If you have access to VA Hospital library I believe they might have the disc. You can also just do questions from a book. Do so many a day and vary all the subject matter. Impossible to answer all of them. Remember the LPN is responsible for the aide or PCA and so must know how to direct them. A lot of my questions focused on what I wd tell someone to do. Don't be nervous and vary your knowledge. Make sure to know what you can and cannot do. In other words what the RN must do ex. Sign off orders, hang blood but LPN can monitor, etc.

If you can find LPN|LVN Gold DVD program you will be guaranteed to pass.I did RN Gold. There was a total of 10 exams. You just do them over and over until you start passing. My daughter did a combo of books and online tests which I paid for. She passed 75 questions as did I.Good luck you can do it. My son is a Corpsman also.

corpsman to cna
If you take the LPN/LVN exam there are books to help you get a feel for the questions. Don't freak as they try to cover everything and anything. I believe as a Corpsman you are so far advanced. Tried to talk my son into taking exam while in Cali. FMTB and relocating was a lot too handle. If you pass the exam then that would put you in a great position-Nurse!I hope my petition takes off. In the meantime take challenge exam for Enlish, Psych, etc. I know some Colleges give credit for corpsman. IMO not enough! Don't give up! Good Luck! say a prayer I contact the right person or Corpsman to RN.

As an RN with my MSN I suggest you go and obtain your RN. You can try and challenge some classes to make it shorter. As a CNA you will not be happy and all your skills will be wasted. Right now I have a petition on Signon.org for "Corpsman to RN" which is asking for a specific program for Corpsmen in the College (s). My son was also Postpartum and now is serving with Marines as their Doc. Good luck to you and do not take the easy way out. The hard work will be worth it in the end.
