Protocols/testing for long-term oncology nurses
I knew of the radiation badges. Sorry I think I wrote out the wordage of my request wrong. I have never heard of such a thing either but I was trying to do some research on the topic of long-term oncology nurses being exposed and if there was anything else facilities do to monitor them and their exposure. Possibly lab work /radiology to see if there are any changes that would occur in the body from long term exposure?

Protocols/testing for long-term oncology nurses
I was just curious if anyone has any knowledge on annual (or any time frame) testing for the long-term oncology nurses to have done since they are exposed to chemotherapy and radiation?

Translator for patients
I completely understand where you're coming from. As I said, thanks for the advice and I changed my profile avatar. I am new to All-Nurses and by your initial comment to "Please change your profile picture" seemed as though we did actually need to be anonymous. Regardless, it's changed. I see the point. I just didn't feel as though I needed to be. I don't plan on upsetting anyone on this site, I'm merely asking for advice on a specific subject I wasn't clear on. I do know that facilities monitor social media, but I haven't done anything that would bring up a red flag nor do I plan to. Picture has been changed. Thanks again for the advice.

Translator for patients
Thanks for the advice. I'm new to all nurses and didn't realize I needed to be made anonymous. Or that I could be recognizable behind my sunglasses.

Translator for patients
I haven't been able to find an answer to this, so I hope you can help me! If a nurse has a patient that needs discharge teaching done but his primary language is a different language.. can a LPN or CNA translate teaching for that patient if they speak the language? I know LPNs and CNAs can't teach.. so I'm a little confused by this. Even though the RN would be right there instructing them what to say and demonstrating along with the LPN/CNA speaking, would that still be considered a no? This is just in case a translator can't be found.

Cultural/Spiritual Assessments
So I've searched and searched and searched for some type of guide to help with this. Our teacher wants us to do a cultural, spiritual, and nutritional assessment on a patient. I have the nutritional assessment guide from nestle but I have no idea about cultural and spiritual. Is there anyone out there that has some type of guide for this?
