  1. LMAO double butt....heheh I thought I was the only one concerened with this issue! If you are a "plus" size gal...such as myself...I love the panties that they sell at Lane Bryant. I also have pale skin so I buy the nude color or a very light light skin tone pink. The ones WITHOUT the lace around the legs. It gives full coverage and has quite a bit of stretch and give. Love them!
  2. WOW that is encouraging...as I've searched the net I've come upon so so many issues of "revoked, suspended indefinately...for much less that what I"m accused of. I've not slept or eaten in days. I'm a total wreck. I'd like to comment more on the post but cannot right now, I'm just so tired and weak. I will comment more tomorrow. Thank you for all the encouragement and for the non-judgemental way you have all spoken to me. I am very grateful to have had these replies. I'll check in tomorrow. Thank you all
  3. Thank you both for responding. I hope there is hope for me. I'm worried about the 6 mth audit of all actions and med administration. I had no idea I made the first mistake let alone any others lurking in my "closet". Are nursing boards quick to zap your license, or more willing to work with you, if you know. Again, I'm just asking opinion, not legal advice.
  4. Long story short and I'm not looking for leagal advice other than what sort of attorney should I be seeking for my problem I am in deep trouble. I took meds (narcs) from the accudose system and never scaned them to a patient. I do not know what happened. If anyone was asked on a specefic day weeks in the past what happened we may all be a litte "lost" as to what has happened. At any rate, I was wrong and did NOT document. I know I was wrong...dead dead wrong and may now pay with my license. At any rate I showed up to work...taken to Employee Health, urine drug tested (sent to forensic lab). I'm quite sure that it will be positive as i took RX cough med the night before I was tested (I have a RX for this). Now I am placed on admin leave pending the drug test. I was told that if the test is ok, they are going to audit 6 months of all my actions and deceide what they will do next. They took my badge (to me this is a VERY bad sign) and sent me home. I understand their concern and that the patients safety must come first. I totally understand and I know that they are right in going this direction. HOwever I feel like no matter what I'm out of a job. Does anyone have any idea how the nursing boards handle this sort of complaint? Does anyone know what type of attorney I should seek? Has anyone been through this? Is this as horrible as I'm seeing it? Is there any hope for my situation? Again, I'm not seeking legal advice, just support from anyone. I am freaking out and have not stoped crying. I love being a nurse and cannot imagine my life if I were not. Thank you for listening to me. Shelly
  5. The date I got called in ...they tested me on my way to my floor to work afer discovering the issue. That night before I took the cough med (with codiene) and was tested the next morning. Does that make better sense?
  6. That is an excellent idea. I will do just that very thing. I appreciate your help
  7. Thanks for the encouragement...yes i made a mistake and didn't document it. THat's the problem, I was wrong, and I made a careless mistake...am I going to pay with my license?
  8. have you ever heard of this at the board? What does the board do? And I do know my test will be positive b/c I took a cough syrup (with rx) the night before for a cough and could not sleep to make this that much worse
  9. I honestly do not know what happend to the drugs. I would have assuemed either gave them or wated due to too soon etc. I cannot honestly remember what happened with a patienton any given day in the past. I have no clue the day date pt or circumstances. I honestly have no excuse. Maybe I wasted and forgot to log it in the accudose system, lost it, etc. I just do not remember on way or the other on that given day.
  10. Hello, I will try to make this as to the point as I can...long story short. I had a narcotic review at work and found to have taken 2 narcotics out without scannng to a patient. They called me in, drug tested, took my badge and have me on unpaid administrative leave. I do not know what is going to happen. I was told they are doing a 6 mth audit of all my medication administration. They also said I give out more narcs than the average nurse, and that is true. I am big on pain management. I'm quite sure with a 6 mth audit that I have made mistakes. I feel that I will be terminated no matter what. What will happen with my nursing license, how will I ever get another job, what can I do? How do I approach this at the next meeting. Has anyone heard of this before or been through this? I am despart any help will be sincerely appreciated. Thank you and God Bless Maggie, RN (for now)
  11. You guys rock! Thank you all for the wonderfl advise!
  12. Hello I'm a new RN. I've been a nurse for three months in med-surg and the part of my day I DREAD the most is when I have to tape report. It takes me forever and I feel very anxious. In fact, I'm a down right basket case when it comes to taping report. Can anyone give me any advise whatsoever to help me with this? Do any of you use any pre printed formes that may be helpful to me in the future? Thanks for any advise. Margaret
  13. To make a very long story short, can you please tell me if a wound that is ordered for a wet to dry packed dressing can be packed with kling/kerlix. Also can you tell me what a "b-roll" is? I recently packed a wound that was too big for 4x4's and too small for what they call a "b-roll" so I used Kling, which looks identicle to the "b-roll" but is much smaller in size. The material looks identical and they are by the same company. The essentially say the same on the package except the roll of "kling" says conforming. Anyway I packed a would (wet to dry) using the kling and later another nurse who also rides my case nearly had a STROKE and pulled out the dressing I had put in place 1.5 hours ago as if she were saving the patients life. I am a new nurse (RN for three months now) and I'm not sure how to find the answer to this. I've searced high and low in text books and can't find a black and white answer. Now I understand what they talked about in school about eating your young. Althought I'm not young (I'm 35, but new) I'm being eaten alive. Please help me. Thanks
