Thanks myitas, I guess I should be used to the wait by now. I finally got hired in the ER......applied in November 2011. Just waiting for the live scan process/health screening portion! Let us know when they give you a call

I did my Live Scan almost 2 weeks ago and haven't heard back yet. Is this pretty normal? Thanks :)

That's awesome! I got a letter from HR today wanting me to call them. When I did, I told them that I already had my finger prints done yesterday. They said my prints were already sent off to the DOJ. Hopefully mine will go as quickly as yours! How many times did you have to go to employee health? Did you bring your immunization card with you? Let us know when you get your start date!

How's your process going CoCStudentNurse? I filled out the initial paperwork today and got my live scan done so they can start the background process. How long did it take for your background check to be completed?

Yeah, I thought so too. The first 9 weeks is all classroom......in the interview I said, "Wow, like going back to school!" and they said, "yep!" Once we're in there they said they slowly ease us onto the unit.....

Thanks CoCStudentNurse. Are you starting on a med-surg floor? I was told in the interview that the ER training program is approximately 3 months long and after that, we begin working in the ER as a permanent position......as long as we get through the program of course

If anyone knows, correct me if I'm wrong. The "F" item is temporary. The training program is approximately 3 months long. I'm going down this week to begin paperwork, etc. and was going to ask more questions then. Does the hourly base rate increase once the position becomes permanent? I'm a nurse with 8 years of experience. The pay scale that i found on the county's website shows significantly higher pay. Thanks :) And congrats JGRN!!

Hi CoStudentNurse - Well the end of the week came and went as expected......no word yet. Did you call the Nurse Recruitment Office when inquiring as to when you would be hearing back in regards to the results of your interview? Thanks :)

Thanks for the heads up CoCStudentNurse! I will definitely keep it in mind. The interviewing process itself can be so nerve racking......hopefully I'll find out sooner than later. :) Sounds like things are really moving along for you.....have they given you a start date?

They said I would find out by the end of the week. The ER position is at LAC - USC. I feel like the interview went well, but you just never truly know until you get "the call"!

Thanks myitas! I'm interviewing with the ER tomorrow. Beyond excited. So it looks like it's safe to say that the wait time for interview results is about a month long?

Congratulations everyone! It seems like the process is finally moving along for some of us. I also applied last November, had my initial interview February, finally got my letter in June. My dream has been to work in the ER and I finally have an interview on Tuesday! I am so excited. Good luck everyone and congratulations......being patient has been tough but well worth it. County has very good benefits, you're all smart to start your nursing careers there.

Yes, I am in the SAME situation, and it is very frustrating. I had my civil service interview in the beginning of Februrary, and I have yet to receive my results. They said 6-8 weeks, and it has been well beyond that. The other day I received the letter stating that I had to reapply online, but that if I had my interview and passed in the last 24 months, I would not have to re-interview. I went ahead and reapplied, but are they forgetting about letting me know about the interview results from February?? I called the number they left @ the bottom of the letter, but it either goes to voicemail (I have left 2), or doesn't pick up at all. I have also sent 2 emails inquiring about my interview results or at least my status in the process. What the heck is going on????
