  2. Hi guys, Im giving a presentation on peritoneal dialysis and I need a visual aid to accompany my presentation. My teacher likes really creative things like using chocolate pudding to make a fake colostomy bag and then passing out chocolate pudding to the class to eat LOL. Anyone have any fun ideas about creating dialysis visual aid? Thanks in advance!
  3. Thank you for that awesome response! It's definitely something that I'm considering. I think that serving others is obviously required to be a good nurse and it is so awesome and such an honor for you to be able to serve our military and the people that make such sacrifices for others everyday. So thank you!!!! I have total respect for our military and I think that this is a journey that I will have to really think about.
  4. Wow, this thread is awesome! I have my BS in psychology and currently am in a BSN program, graduating in May 2014. I am considering Navy but am interested in learning about what everyday life is like for a Navy Nurse. Is it true that it is difficult to join right now? Does anyone regret their decision to be a Navy nurse instead of a civ nurse?
  5. Wow, you are awesome! Thanks so much for all the info and looking forward to meeting all you guys in a few weeks!! :)

  16. Hello all, I was in a BSN program and I didnt pass pharm, twice, which resulting me being dismissed from the program. I switched majors to psych and graduated a year later with my BA. Nursing is what I really want to do! I was not emotionally ready for nursing school the first time around and the stress was too much for me. I became depressed during school and essentially gave up, which is why I didnt pass. I did talk to my professors and I was going to counseling and decided against the recommended medical leave. Now that I have grown up a little and my life is stable, I am ready to return to school for nursing. I am trying to find a ABSN program or even an RN program that will accept me. My problem is that every school I look at requires a letter of good standing and I dont think my first school will grant me that since I was dismissed for academic reasons! Does anyone know of any ABSN or RN programs that does not require a letter of good standing if previously enrollled in a BSN program??? My gpa is 3.2, which is ok and I have been working as a CNA for over a year. I went to school in Illinois and I just moved to Virginia, but I am open to schools anywhere in the US. Thanks sooooo much for any tips or advice!
