  1. MRubey replied to MC32's topic in TEAS Exam Help
I just took the test last week. My school administered the test so we were interviewed and given our scores at that time. They require at least a 70% on each section. I did very well on the reading part and just snuck by on the math, in fact I didn't even finish it. I found it much more difficult than the study materials but..... I spent a lot of time working through details of complex problems that had I seen the larger patterns that were there I would have seen the answer immediately. There is more than one like that so be aware.
  2. Good Luck NS93! I've ordered in some other materials. Hopefully it will be more helpful. All the best, Mike
  3. I am taking the TEAS in about three weeks. I have the study guide and have been doing the practice tests in the back. I thought the reading would be the easiest part but the questions can be wacked. For example, there is a magazine story about an alien abduction in NM. It then asks what logical conclusions you come to based on the story. One answer is that something strange is happening in NM. This is the one I would have picked. Another is that aliens have arrived and have been abducting people - and THAT is the correct answer! This is ridiculous.
  4. The one published by ATI, the creator of the test. It sells at my schools bookstore for $80. You can get it from the publisher for $44 plus shipping.
  5. I find note cards to be the most powerful learning/memorization tool in my orificenal. My school uses a point system to determine entrance with the TEAS exam being weighted more than GPA.
  6. In my advanced age (53) and return to school I've discovered a few things about academic success. First of all approach school as your job and set your priorities accordingly. Nothing else is as important as doing well in school. Having fun with your friends has zero importance relative to your commitment to school. You are preparing for the rest of your life, take it seriously. Then, understand that it is your own psychology that stands between you and academic excellence. By that I mean your own resistence to what is in front of you. Your own resistence to the material. The opposite of resistence is curiosity. Dissolve your resistence and everything becomes fascinating, when your interested you become completely engaged and it actually becomes a lot easier. Good luck...
  7. I'm 53 and doing prereqs. My A&P instructor wondered why I didn't want to go to medical school. Because I'd finish just in time to retire.
