Hi first off i want to say congrats to all those who got accepted. I was curious to know what was done during the interview, what was asked, and if you guys had to write a letter or anything like that when you applied. I'm a current student of CCC and I'm hoping to get into the next years Nursing program. I am working on my BI classes this year and hoping to be done with BI-234 before the next open enrollment for nursing comes around. Any advise you could give me on the application process, interview and even on the bi-231 through bi-234 would be greatly appreciated. I know the year just started but i can hardly wait to be in the moment that all of you are experiencing. Once again Congrats and best of luck!

Thanks for that info.. & actually i have two kids I've done dental asst. I actually began the program when i had my first baby boy (I was 20 graduated with honors) I was looking at the RN at Sumner i'm relaly not willing to do that long waiting list for all the other campus out there. I have no issue with getting back into school if i do the LPN at sumner its about 13 months or so & if i were to do the RN its 2 yrs. I have the energy & the hubby who helps me get through the career I really love (plus it gives him time to decided what hes gonna study ..lol) I figuere that in the long run it pays off & I do better working under pressure anyhow (kids, life, school ) I guess i'll look into starting the LPN with sumner & continue on with their RN bridge if it ever even goes through. I dont want to wait on the RN too long and put my study on hold just for that. Also I do plan to eventually move out of oregon but not for now, so schools else where is not such a big option i have. I actually have a family member who will be attending Walla Walla. I'll wish her luck :) Thanks Glenna!

hey Glenna just wondering how does your friend like the program? im debating weather to just start off as lpn at sumner then bridge to RN or if i should wait just for the RN... Where did you do your studing?

Hey Patty how are you? I've been gone for a while all the excitment of having my hubby home.. Have you heard anything else other than Sept. 24th? Im nervous because i feal that if i dont start this year im just going to push it back.. im thinking weather to start the LPN program & then continue to RN... Not sure im in a dilemma.. Anyhow how are you hows the study going?

Thats good! i wonder if OHSU would be one of them??? I also looked it up at OHSU & i think you may aply for the ADNto BSN even if they aren't partnered you just have to go through their pre-req. it read something like "RNBS Students from Non-OCNE Partnered Schools" etc etc.. Providence hu?! well we know what to aim for. I just have so many question going in & out of my brain & im glad we can discuss these things here because i know if i had waited until talking to anyone at sumner i would of lost more than half of these questions. Its good to be hopefull and get your options out on the table just incase what we fist plan through doesnt work out.

Yeah i was thinking July too. WEll thats good we dont want people getting confused. Hey do you know if the credits are transferable? Im wondering if you decide to contiue to a bachelors in RN if you can transfer out? It would be nice if they could add that program too...lol

Ok so i have to check my PM because that thing stated that it hadnt been sent..weird! I know the weather is finally coming around, I wish we had more of this weather through out the year. I would serioulsy love it here (more than L.A.) if it wasnt for all the constant rain. Yeah i would think they would start untill December. June would be pushing it since im sure they have alot of work to get started on their end. That sounds like good news to me. I know it sounds crz but when i was in Dental Asst school i had Deja vu about being in class with the blue scrubs and all.. so make that dream come true :) I hadnt cought that only because you mentioned how long it was . I'll stick with your wishfull thinking and keep that in mind.. its all because they are updating their website... ok happy friday & we will stay in touch

I just called Lisa not to long ago to see if they were sending out that info..lol Im nervous & excited. how is your practice/study going? I've had a lil delay with it because of my work. But im still gettin some done. & now expecially since my hubby will be home soon. that will help ALOT! (hes been gone for a year) So do you think the classes will begin on Dec? Im nervous..lol... Need to stay positive & work hard to get accepted

Ha! im sure even if its just watching you study he will be more than happy to spend some time by your side, he can help you do some flash cards! I'll have to do part time plus full time mom.. If that doesnt go well my hubby will have to do all the working while i do my schooling ...lol There & Their? whats the difference?!.. lol im joking.. I printed out the little section of what you mentioned to focus on, just because im so nervous and i really want to do well ... You would be very lucky if you did! I'm sure you will do very well, It will be a breeze for you:nurse:. Oh and my cuddy works as a medical asst. She hasnt been in the field very long but i know that shes found jobs fairly easy. She started off at a physicians office and nows works at Emanual Hospitol (with about less than a year of experience). Im sure you will be able to find something that will work out with your schedule.

Well I hope we both get in and yeah im taking advantage of every minute i can to study. Oh really? which ones? here is the one I've been looking at for now Rader's PHYSICS 4 KIDS.COM It has other links to math and all. Once i get trough all these examples and teachings im going to read up on the TEAS V book and i have another book but i cant recall the name of it. Yeah i think AM will work out for a part time job and to be wide awake for school!. Sure will. Oh and since youve taken the exam before, what should i be more prepared for?

Actually im not in the medical field at all! which is why im nervous and unsure if i would even get accepted. Ive done Dental Asst. Im currently and office Asst. tho. But im just so interested in this field and i know this is what i want. :eek:Wow! 3+ hrs, Ugh i wonder how much info i can get & study from the science portion. I honestly havent taken a science class since HS which is about 7 yrs ago. I think i will see Lisa and take the cpat exam as she sujested first. She said she can tell if i would make it into the RN by that exam. Not quite sure how, but well shes the expert! Im really aiming for December. & wish you luck on your move. I think i would be better off in the morning. This way i would be more focused. Same goes for me, I hope my job will be flexible with me because i would like to stay part time atleast untill they send us out to do the practicums because i know our schedule will be changing very often. My hubby is currently in Mexico, i just hope he can be home soon so i can start the program. Thats the actual reason im waiting till Dec. having someone who helps you push forward makes everything seem so much easier than it really is, so i know what you mean. Im really nervous. Im scared of how i will do in the science section of the TEAS. :uhoh21: I feel good about everything else. like i said just need to do an overview but ugh ... im breaking my head over the science portion.

Oh wow atleast you have an idea what to espect on the TEAS exam. Im so nervous because i havent studied anything in the past 4 yrs (other than what i do at my job) is it difficult? Im starting to brush up on my math and then I plan to get into the Science part. the readin/writing/english part is the least of my worries for now. So you will beging (if available) on the 25th of June? Good luck i think i need alot of study before i try to aim for June. And yes 59% is 1 poin and it gies up to 84% + which would give you 6 points. The more points we can earn the better chances of being accepted. Originally the testing for the TEAS would start on May 15&16th Ill try and prepare my self for that date and if i feel ready i guess ill aim for June too :)

Patty i like in Oregon City And i was told the same thing last week just that this week on Monday i received the call, but i guess your right its a great oportunity to study the RN with no pre-req. Well since the date has been pushed back (She said another 3-6 months) and from what she said they wont be starting on June 25th then i guess i have a bit more time to study the TEAS exam. Either way Im very thrilled about entering Sumner for this program. Have you completed your FASFA yet? I had received the school code but not sure if its different because i had originally inquired about the LPN... Im also looking to start in December so lets keep in touch. :cheers:

So I went ahead and i got the ATI study book over the weekend and i received a call back. Has anyone else heard that the RN program for SUmner college is still pending on final approval of the program? I was going to start of with LPN and when i found out about the RN i started getting all the information i could. I was told to continue with LPN and then once the program for RN actually started i could take the TEAS and continue with the RN half way through the program since i would complete the LPN first. Have any of you heard any of this? she said it could still be 3-6 months more (it was going to start in June 25th but i guess not)
