Where are all the "older" nurses?
Hang-on.... here I am ... I'm coming! 62 year old "disabled" male here! Just completed 2 year RN program at a community college applying for NCLEX as we speak! Former Certified surgical tech from a well known hospital here in Los Angeles - took me sometime to get over a few of life's hurdles - count me in!!

Never give up!
"Permanently Disabled" since 2001 -in 1996 diagnosed with a "terminal illness." I was told I had 2-3 months to live - so I went home, got my affairs in order and "waited to die"..... Struggling with health issues - in 2008 realized I waited long enough and IF I was going I was going by "die living not living to die" It took some doing to receive ADA "accommodations" - Disabled Student Programs VARY college to college in the advocacy and services they may provide! In 2012, started RN program, at a 2 year community college here in Los Angeles, Ca.. It took time- family, deaths, surgeries, health issues and just life! BUT I finally completed my 2 year program this Fall 2016- earned my RN certificate, AS and 2 AA degrees! Did I tell you? I'm a 62 year old male - now former RN student nurse applying for the NCLEX! it wasn't a dream.... it was a goal! Never give up!!!!

Refusing to give nursing pin to student!
Unfortunately, classmate and friend did not pass the last semester of RN Program- the faculty and administration REFUSE to give her the "nursing pin" she paid for nor will they reimburse her and so she is unable to get her money back ($100 The Director of this community college RN program, in California- told her the pin she paid for - was going to be "donated" to someone - she was forced to "donate" the pin to the program and won't be reimbursed for the cost. Does your school have the same policy? Isn't this coercion?

Test Banks = Academic Dishonesty???
Test bank (Lewis and Lemone)circulating among a select few, at a junior college in So California over the past few semesters I am aware of - 2011-2014. Users have bragged and said that significant number of questions have appeared on all tests so far in each semester. In all semesters they have in fact received higher than passing scores! The Dean was made aware of the test bank and it was not addressed! So it must be okay? What do you think? Of course, "they still have to "pass" the NCLEX...good luck?
