  1. Maryland is a walk-through state, I got my license in June 2012 and I was in and out in under 2 hrs...
  2. Let me know when you start, will you be at Suburban Hosp? Maybe we can meet up after you get there. I didn't get my housing info until one week before my start date...
  3. Just got my housing info today, my apartment building is The Veridian in Silver Spring
  4. I will be working Mon-Fri, 8am to 4:30pm so I'm thinking the traffic will be pretty heavy at those times :) I will be moving in 4 days prior to the start date, so I definitely plan on doing some dry runs to figure out the best way to commute. Thanks for all of the info!
  5. Thanks for the advice! I will be at Suburban Hospital and I am letting the company set up my housing for the exact reasons you mentioned...I don't have my address yet but I will update you when I do and you can both tell me what you think :) They have already told me the apartment will likely be in Rockville or Silver Spring. I am a little worried about the commute, should I look into taking the Metro to work?
  6. Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone will be in the Maryland/DC area this summer, or is there anyone that has traveled to this area before? I have accepted my first assignment in Bethesda, MD and any info would be great...Thanks!
  7. I have been a Case Manager for 2 years and I really don't miss the bedside as much as I thought I would. I am still pretty involved in the patient's hospital stay but it is much less stressful! I like using all of my nursing knowledge but not having all of the clinical liability that goes along with bedside nursing. Let me know if you have more questions, and good luck with your new career path!
