CDC now banned from using "evidence based" and other words per White House
Where is the HHS statement? I want to see it.

CDC now banned from using "evidence based" and other words per White House
Here's the latest from "The Hill" the director of the CDC says there are no banned words, and "The Hill" said the communication from Trump administration staff to the CDC was "reportedly", so there you have it for now. It is the usual stuff with people up in arms all the time and so easily offended. Make your judgments when you get all the information. And make sure you don't get all of it from the internet.

So they were " told" and then they "told". Is there anything in writing or are we all just being "told"?

What we need to know before making judgments. Where is the proof that a list of words was given, what words, when and why? I would like to see some documentation before I believe what is reported in today's news. We have all seen reports that were not correct, even research misrepresented by the media.

Florida required fingerprinting is confusing
I spent some more hours on this yesterday. Here's is how I think it works now. Florida says they do not take card fingerprints and livescan says they don't send them electronically. So what you have to do is go onto Morphotrust website and register as Florida nonresident, you must go to the Florida registry. Do not go to your own state! Then you pay about 90.00 dollars online, you must write down the numbers you are given because these numbers must be on your finger print card. Next you have to go the sheriffs office and have your fingerprints done on a card. (Florida does not take, right? but wait....), You may need to pay for this service or not, I did not have to. Then you take the card and make sure that the correct ORI number is on there and that on the reference line you write your confirmation number as proof as payment to Morphotrust. Morphotrust will give you an address to mail your card to, at this location they will scan you card into an electronic format and submit it to Florida. You can'[t bend your card, it must be in a large firm envelope, and in my case I mailed it to an address in Florida. Apparently after it is scanned then sent to the state it takes about 72 hours. I can hardly believe that it took me hours and hours to find this out, no one tells you. You have to put the pieces together yourself. The dumb dumb that took my prints before didn't care one iota, wouldn't even answer my questions or pay any mind at all. Florida says they need nurses but make it difficult to get a license. Doesn't make any sense to me. I'll let everyone know how it goes. If I can spare someone else from going through all this garbage I will.

Serious burn out and in need of change.
This may seem out of place here but I feel you need spiritual support. Is there a church where you can go to share you burden? You need to take care of yourself, remember that on airlines the flight attendant says you must put oxygen on yourself before helping someone else. As far as career advice, you might try a wound care center. I am sorry you have been bullied, that is something that should never be tolerated. Good luck and God Bless

Florida required fingerprinting is confusing
Hello, I live and work in Indiana and applied for a Florida nursing license about 6 weeks ago. Funny thing is that now that state board requires electronic fingerprinting and as of Jan 1, 2013 no longer accepts cards, according to the letter they sent me. When I checked their list of approved providers of electronic fingerprinting and made an appointment, on arrival the staff said they do not provide this service for out of state. They went to the website and saw for themselves they were listed. So one person, called another and another person called another and I left there not knowing anything. I rechecked the approved list and found another provider who would not listen to me,would not even look at my papers or take the number for the ORI for endorsement. It has been a week and nothing yet. I paid 40 dollars for electronic fingerprinting that may not do any good. There is no email address for livescan in order to send a question. Question is, Has anyone applied for Florida licensure under this new rule this year and how did you get it. I can't keep traveling from place to place all over the state to find someone who knows what they are doing. Any advice would be well appreciated.

Is this common now?
I am very happy for you, I am sure it is a relief.

Jobs for older nurses
I am 52, can't work 12 hr shift or nights, just don't have it in me anymore. I am currently studying for my MSN, trying to find a job that is not so physically demanding. I am certified in gerontology, have a certificate in patient advocacy and am also working on being a HIT trainer. I almost don't care what I do as long as it is days and not shift work. What kind of job can I get? I have applied for over 100 jobs. Most of my experience is in home health which I think killed alot of my possibilities. No one seems to understand what a HHC nurse does, therefore do not value it. I think I may be wasting my time on school now, I don't know what direction to go. How do I get in the door of a hospital, no one will call me except for those night shift jobs that new nurses have to take. I hate to say it but I've already put my time in on that kind of work. I am confident and skilled and knowledgeable and a great communicator. I also dress very professionallyand am neat in appearance and manner. So what do I need to do to get a good day job?
