my friend took it in a CUNY college, i am not familiar with nassau, but if its close to the city i will definetly look into it. Thank you again for all of your helpful responses! I really need to push myself to do good in the sciences because i was never good at it!

Congrats SamTansey & Kristinebean! & shygstgurl! do you guys mind sharing what you guys applied with (grades, gpa, reccomendations, where you guys transferring from) so i have an idea what i should apply with in the future? Thanks for any response in advance!

My friend told me when he took courses at another college as non matric the credits didnt count for stony brook which really sucks unfortunately BMCC is a CUNY not SUNY so it might not be equivalent, so its either i double up two sciences per semester or commute to stony for the science during summer poo!!

thank you for the suggestion, i shall start applying as a non matri student asap so i can take chem in the summer, i hope they take the credits .. did it say i need a bio elective to apply? because im currently taking bio 101 and i dont know if that counts as an elective, i also have a geology with lab for the "another science" requirement, would i still need another bio elective?

Thanks for the responses! I am an undergrad of stony brook at the moment, the only thing is they aren't offering the sciences in the manhattan campus in the summer. ( I live in the city) and I have a summer job with autism kids ( do you think that would be a plus applying for nursing?) so I don't wanna live on campus... I'm wondering if I can take the science class in bmcc and maybe have the credits transfer .. But I'm not too sure how it worksAgain thank you so much for all your helpful posts!! And sbhopeful too;)

Hi everyone! I am new to this forum, i've been snooping 'round reading threads like this and the accelerated stony brook thread and its been so helpful to read people's experience. I am a transfer undergrad in stony brook right now, i spent two years of college studying business that i have no interest in. I wanted to do nursing since begining of college but didn't have the guts to because i was scared of failure. To be honest i am not a 'sciencey person' i am not good with science so i am scared i will not do well in the pre reqs. Seeing other people with A's in all the sciences really scares me. But i want to be a nurse so bad Im willing to take these classes, and hopefully do well! I am starting the pre reqs fall 13 and hopefully can finish all the reqs by spring 13 and apply for fal 13 do you guys think thats possible? (ANP 1&2, chem, bio, intro psyc, soc) the rest of the electives, arts and hum i have done. .. Hope to read into more of everyones experience with Nursing! i was wondering if the 2year program is as competitive as the accelerated one? do yu think they are more lenient with grades? thanks for any of response!!
