  1. jdk2418....Did you email them and that was their response?
  2. I did email them and this was the response I got... Your GRE scores are low plus we also had concerns in the area of "non-cognitive factors" (i.e., not grades or IQ). We felt that you need to improve your social and emotional intelligence skills. These areas are important to clinical success as a nurse anesthetist student and include things such as assertiveness, empathy, flexibility, problem solving, and stress management. You may want to read the two books below for a greater understanding of emotional intelligence. 1. The EQ Edge: Emotional Intelligence and Your Success 2. Emotional Intelligence in Health and Social Care: A Guide for Improving Human Relationships We do not have a specific number of seats in the class. We do not have a "wait list." We either accept or reject applicants. I showed this response to the CRNA, supervisors, and MDs that wrote my reference letters. They were all in shock because they feel like the committee got the wrong idea of the type of person/nurse I am. I'm not sure what they were looking for in my answers during the interview. I was also asked what I would do if i wasn't accepted. I replied i would email and find out what I can do to better myself as an applicant for next year. I'm so lost because I totally did not expect this reason to be why I wasn't accepted.
  3. I felt confident in my interview as well. I wonder if they used that online assessment we took prior to our interview to help guide their decisions. I took another practice one online and I scored "high on emotional intelligence." This could mean 2 things: 1) you really are great with dealing with your's as well as other's emotions or 2) you lack self-awareness of your emotions. I hope they didn't assume the latter and had a pre-judgement on the kind of person I was before the interview started. :/
  4. Do you guys mind sharing what you did to prep yourself for the GRE? I think that was my setback :/
  5. For those of you that were accepted...do you mind sharing your stats? Thanks!!
  6. I asked and they don't have a wait list.
  7. Didn't get in but congrats to those that did!!! Best of luck to everyone!!!
  8. MissBrie_123 who did you talk to because I was told mid week October when I asked on Monday. I wonder if they changed the date to October 1st because they have made decisions quicker than they thought.
  9. I think the Oct. 15th date is for those that may get put on the wait list and are waiting to hear back if they got a spot or not.
  10. Nope!! Just two separate interviews with 3 faculty members in each group.
  11. It actually went a lot better than i had expected. It was like mace8704 had mentioned in previous posts. It's a structured interview that was timed and every person got the same question. They even gave you time at the end to ask questions. I was definitely stressed before and during the interview because I had no idea what they were gong to ask. Overall, compared to other places I have interviewed, this one was so much easier. Everyone was so nice and they even had RRNAs there that you could chat with before and after the interview. They also gave us a tour of the building. I don't think I can wait till Oct. 15th lol.
  12. Yea that makes sense but I wouldn't be surprised if they ask clinical questions like how is dopamine & dobutamine different, what is SVR and how do you calculate it, or even stuff like how is a Swanz inserted even though I don't work with Swanz. Wouldn't it be great if it was simple clinical items like interpret the ABG and even how to treat it :)
  13. Good luck to all those that are interviewing tomorrow!!
  14. I hope it that's easy If they are going to have a structured style interview, then I would think that with our clinical experience & CCRN all questions are fair game in terms of whether it's related to CVICU, MICU, or neuro ICU.
  15. I have interview on Sept. 8th as well. So nervous and excited at the same time. I wonder if one interview will more of getting to know you and the other is more clinical focused.
