  1. I had trouble finding a job in Omaha too, but that could have been for a number of different reasons. At the time I had just graduated/had no experience and I live in Connecticut. I love Omaha, but alas, I am working in CT. I never got so much as a call for any of the dozens of positions I applied for out there.
  2. Not a whole hell of a lot yet. I'm getting my ACLS soon and am getting a professional to rework my resume. And that's why I'm here. I'm kind of at a loss to make myself more 'marketable.' I find myself wondering if I would have been more so had I just waited greater than 6 months to find a different job than this one.
  3. Hello, all. I have been working at my job for a little over a year, and I've been an RN for about 1.5 years (got my BSN in 2012). As you may have guessed already, I'm a psych nurse. I don't find myself very pleased with my work, especially because I strongly dislike my work environment and hospital. The trouble I am having is finding a job not in psych. I find myself not even applying to many jobs because I don't meet the requirements for experience. This is especially true for peri-operative jobs, which I am really hoping to find. Has anyone made this transition? If so, what was your experience like? If not, Does anyone have any advice in getting the ball rolling? Thanks in advance.
  4. First post! I've been a lurker for years but I decided to register because I really need some advice. I've been looking through some older answers and am not satisfied with what I've seen thus far. I have an interview next Tuesday and have no idea as to what I should wear. I do not own a suit nor is it in my budget to get one. I don't like the idea of renting one either because with multiple interviews that could end up being just as expensive as a suit. With that being said, what are my options? Is a nice argyle sweater with dress pants appropriate? Or should I go with the whole shirt and tie deal, even though I always feel really uncomfortable wearing that. I appreciate all feedback! Thank you.
