Fix my interview crisis....
I have come to the conclusion that my interviewing skills really suck, so much to the point that I am failing my interviews. This is not allowing me to move forward with my career and instead is having me stuck at my current job. So time to brush up on my interview skills. A co-worker who used to be a hiring manager told me to always be positive in an interview no matter what, and always be part of the team. After talking with her, it became apparent that my answers to some questions were hindering my progress in getting me towards the goal of the hospital. So I'm asking your opinion on certain questions that are difficult to answer. For example the "Tell me your weakness" question. I have never heard a great answer to this question. My exchange goes something like this: Tell me what is a weakness of yours? Me: Well I find that hard work can also be a weakness for me. It is tough sometimes knowing when to do the hard work, or to let go and let others around you help. And that being said, I could always use help with my documentation. I was told to rephrase the words I am trying to say, to not make it sound like I am so much better than the rest of the team. While I am no better than the rest of the team, I am a very hard worker. And while other people are sitting around and doing "story time", I'm busy working. And I sure don't want to come across as "better than everyone". I will also need to focus on positive answers in every situation. Perhaps it is due to my experiences in nursing, but generally I find more negative situations than positive ones. People who do not want to do their work, that sort of thing. Thoughts?

Help me get a good job...(long)
So in response to a previous post. I do work in a SNF. And while I like it, I have always wanted to work at the hospital. But for whatever reason it seems to be unobtainable for me. And while I try to keep positive, I feel that I will never be good enough. It was suggested to me I keep a few ideas in mind: good resume, cover letter, killer interview, body language. So have a resume, will upload and you can pick it apart, I have no cover letter. Had 3 interviews, and they went nowhere, and no idea why. One interviewer said I seemed too stiff? The HR for Alegent says that it is very competitive, and that it will make a difference when I get my BSN. But here is what I don't understand. If I apply for a job, then get a second interview and get rejected after that interview, but my co-worker applies for that same job with less experience than me, and gets the job, I must have done something wrong? And I do think body language may be an issue, I am not good at interviews. So any tips you can throw my way would be grand. And thanks for letting my squeal and here it is: Resume slightly disfigured d/t crappy posting bubble. The challanges of obtaining employment
I am beginning to think that I am forbidden from working at any hospital here in Omaha, Nebraska. I have applied to many positions and even had a few interviews. And all I got for it was nothing. I work at a Skilled Nursing Facility here in Omaha. Some of my co-workers who are also RN's also applied and were accepted. I am beginning to think that there must be something wrong with me. My co-workers and family tell me that I just have to give it time and that it will happen. But I don't see it that way. Sorry if I'm ranting, I try to stay positive. I am currently working on my BSN, so we will see if that helps. I just needed to post because I needed to get it off my chest.

Need Suggestions
well there's little I can do about it now, i'm done in 7 months with lpn school, and will be taking prereqs for bsn. If I had known that when I started I would'nt have gone to this crappy lpn school i'm at. But how did I know. When I started all this, i'm sitting on the couch wathcing tv and I see the ad for Hamilton College come on, and there I go. How was I supposed to know Hamilton College is a joke. I came from the computer field. Oh well, It'll work itself out, at least i'm getting some experience.

Need Suggestions
I am currently in a local part time LPN program. I have 7 months left till completion. I have already decided on my future, to become a CRNA. I am aware there will be much hard work and study, but i've liked what I have seen from my research into CRNA, and am willing to go all the way. This is a second career for me, I was into computers before, but that sort of fell through when the market became saturated. I almost feel too old to start, even though i'm 29. I'll be in school for the next 6-7 years just for everything. After my lpn is done, I will start on my pre-reqs for BSN. Anyway, I am very interested in CRNA school and want to start studying before my interview. Was there any good anesthesia books I could get into before I visit Anethesia school?? I would like to study on my own and make a good impression during my interview.
