LVN-BSN at ISU in California Issues and Updates
Here is letter I received from The College Network: "We have some good news to share with you about the Indiana State University (ISU) LVN to BS in Nursing degree program in California. The California Board of Registered Nursing has concurred with ISU that clinical components of this program may be conducted in federal facilities and ISU has already contracted with its first federal facilities. ISU and The College Network will continue to secure agreements with other federal facilities throughout the state that will meet the needs of all students in the program. Admissions have resumed for students in the Los Angeles area currently admitted into the University, but not yet admitted into the nursing program at the College of Nursing, Health, and Human Services (CONHHS). General admission into ISU will resume shortly for those in the Los Angeles area who need to complete their Phase II Nursing Transition examinations. We will notify you as soon as ISU begins accepting new applicants in other areas of California. If you are not ready for admission into the ISU Nursing program or not ready to move into the Phase II Nursing Transition examinations, please continue to study and prepare to test out of any degree-required general education courses that are part of your degree program to ensure you are ready to move forward when admissions begin to be accepted in your area. Please do not attempt to contact federal facilities in your area about completing clinical hours. You can be assured that ISU and The College Network are in communication with federal facilities throughout the state. Individual clinical placements will be determined by ISU's California Clinical Coordinator when you are registered in a core nursing course that includes concurrent clinical education. The College Network's Academic Support department will continue to assist you with your studies and support you in the pursuit of your degree. You may contact them at 1-888-672-2963. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Academic Support Department The College Network, Inc." Typing it up made me realize I read it wrong the first time! So even if I was "ready" to enter Phase II they aren't admitting new students... SO over all this!!! Shannen

Interview help please :)
It is important that you express in your interview that the job is "the job of your dreams!" They want someone who wants to be there and see the excitement in their face (though not too theatrical or anything). I also ALWAYS follow up with a hand written thank you card. I am always told that it was so appreciated by the hiring manager and if you and another candidate are the same, that card will set you apart and make you more likely to be offered the job. Hope that helps!!!!

LVN-BSN at ISU in California Issues and Updates
I saw on another board that filing with the Attorney General in IN got them their $ back, so I am filing a complaint right now!! You can do it online, but I want to attach my contract and have a LONG explanation, so I am printing form and mailing it in. I also signed 2 change.org petitions out there! Go to change.org and search The College Network and sign too! :)

LVN-BSN at ISU in California Issues and Updates
I just called TCN and was told basically that I can't cancel my contract, but can file a grievance with their board for review, so she is sending me that paperwork. She claims they are in talks with several Universities to set up a new contract, but can't obviously guarantee anything. I'm not sure what to do from here, but I do know that I no longer have faith in their program and want out. I already wasted a lot of time and $ and just want to go to my local community college now so it's more secure with clinicals and the program being around for many, many years. I just want my $10,400 back!!! :-(

MDI with spacer/mask versus Nebulizer
My daughter used the spacer at 9 months old +. We also had a nebulizer, but that was when the inhaler didn't work well enough (acute illness). They usually cry at that age when using which is helpful as they take in deep breaths. I'm a new pediatric nurse now, but have an asthmatic child.
