  1. Do you mind me asking what state you work in? Thanks!
  2. I work in a CCU and we have been looking at our utilization of restraints, and we use them 50% more than hospitals our size so I have been put in charge of researching how other hospitals do this, how they decide to put someone in restraints, when they decide to take them out, and if they are using any specific tools to help them decide (algorithms, flowsheets, etc.) I am particularly wondering about ventilated patients since this is mainly where our restraints come into play. We have protocols in place to do spontaneous awakening trials every shift to try to wean patients off sedation and hopefully off the ventilator, as those two go hand in hand, but other ideas are greatly appreciated!
  3. This was my second time applying. I got waitlisted last year. I focused on working and volunteering in the field and used that experience in the essay.
  4. Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/505138089552424/?fref=ts or you can search OHSU ASBN and it should come up.
  5. I got an acceptance email today for the Fall cohort! I am wishing all the best for you wait-listers as I was in your position last year and totally understand what you are going through! My stats: Previous degree: BA in psychology 3.65 GPA pre-reqs (all completed before application) 4.0 I have worked in the field for just under a year but didn't really talk too much about that on my essay. I focused on why I wanted to be a nurse and what helped me make my decision. Good luck to everyone waiting! Does anyone know if there is a facebook page for this years students?
  6. I haven't been accepted yet. I was just wondering about potential cost. I am trying to get my finances straight in case I get a call :)
  7. whew! Thank you for clearing that up :)
  8. @Midwife22 - On their website it shows last years' tuition at $39,081 for residents. Where did you get your spreadsheet with the updated cost? Is it really $15,000 more this year? That seems a little steep!
  9. I am disappointed as well but I will keep applying until I get in :) Good luck to you Emma!
  10. This is what I got - similar to yours: Hello Andrea,Thank you for contacting the OHSU School of Nursing. We are in the process of filling the cohort. Even if the classes are filled, things can change up until Orientation. I hope this information is of help.Thank you,Office of AdmissionsOHSU School of NursingLocal: 503-494-7725Toll Free: [email protected]
  11. @aprilshower - I did not I have had my phone on me at all times just hoping they will call! Does anyone know if they are still calling waitlisters? Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear back!
  12. No news yet... From what I have seen here no one has heard anything past getting on the waitlist.
  13. If you don't mind me asking, what did the letter say? I am currently on the waitlist for OHSU and would love to know for sure either way. At this point I just need to start making decisions about my future and the waiting is killing me. Thanks for your input! Congrats on Linfield!!!!
  14. Has anyone that was on the waitlist been accepted yet? There were so many of us that were waitlisted you would think that at least one of us has been accepted.... anyone else receive that letter that shauna.r mentioned?
  15. That's OK :) Let me know if you find it. Thanks!
