  1. Deleting my post... It was the wrong program! Oops. I first read the letter thinking it was a final denial from the ABSN but it was actually from the traditional BSN. Sorry for scaring you Andee! Anyway... I'm still planning on Linfield and looking for a place to live.
  2. I'm in the PB block for this summer. I think we all have class together on Mondays though. :)
  3. Michelle - no problem! I still check the forums pretty often even though there's not much activity. :) I'm still looking for a place to live / roommates if anyone is interested! I have two small dogs which is turning out to make things a little difficult. Has anyone seen a bulletin board for student postings on campus?
  4. I'm also mailing in my acceptance letter tomorrow. Very excited to start in June! I started a group on facebook called Linfield ABSN Summer 2012 Cohort. Please feel free to join! I'm looking forward to meeting all of you. I hope that's the name of our cohort... or are we the class of Summer 2013 cohort? (I added my sister because I needed another person to start the group.) Michelle - I'll be moving from Oregon City to Portland. I agree that it'd be nice to have someone to study with and possibly carpool to class. Send me a message here or on facebook if you're still looking for a roommate. :)
  5. Alternate list for me too... Good luck to everyone waiting to hear!
  6. As everyone else is suggesting, it's best to plan on biking and/or using public transportation to get to the hill! I've worked at OHSU for a few years and use public transportation most days. There is public parking but it's around $11/day. The two best ways to get there are the #8 bus from downtown or the tram. The #8 is the only bus that runs all day and has frequent service. The tram starts fairly early and runs until 9pm. I currently take a bus (#35 along Macadam) to the tram which is pretty fast! The streetcar also stops right next to the tram. There are express busses that go to OHSU from various parts of Portland (#61, 64, 65, 66, 68). They only run during regular commuting hours so are a pain if you need to stay late (some stop at 6pm) or leave midday. I sometimes drive to street parking at the bottom of the hill and then catch an express bus up the hill. I lived in Beaverton for a few months and took the MAX to the Goose Hollow stop and the #68 up the hill. It's not a quick commute! Around an hour and a half each way for me... I wouldn't recommend it. If I get accepted to OHSU's ABSN program, I'll definitely be moving closer to campus. Jessel02- I'll also be trying to find dog-friendly housing... hopefully not too hard to do!
  7. pnlu- Thanks! I'm waiting to hear from OHSU ABSN first. How about you?
  8. I also received an acceptance letter! Woot! My stats are... 3.72 cumulative and 3.8 pre-req GPA (pre-reqs completed in undergrad plus one PCC psych course) BS in Biology from the University of Utah, 2008 Work in a basic science research lab as a tech, also worked in clinical research and clinical laboratory. Currently volunteering in Med/Surg unit. Personal experience taking care of a loved one with a chronic disease for many years. For my insight resume, I ended up changing a few topics at the last minute. I decided to go with more personally meaningful and less standard/safe responses.
  9. I'm also anxiously waiting to hear from GWU! My application was final Jan 16th and sent for review March 3rd. After reading through 2011's posts it seems like they are taking a lot longer this year... maybe there are more applicants?
  10. Hi everyone! I've been reading through the forums, especially those from last year, to see when notifications are going to arrive. I'm waiting to hear from OHSU ABN, Linfield, and George Washington. I have a skype interview with University of Arizona on Saturday and have been accepted to University of Portland for Spring 2013. I'm really anxious to hear back from OHSU and GW. I'm also excited about UP but it's a lot of money... If anyone hears anything please post!
