Do nights and weekends have classes or clinicals on sundays

Can someone tell me where I can get my titers done. It use to be a place near fscj north campus we had to go to when I started the lpn program over there but I am not sure if they are still there. Also a good place to get a physical. I do not have insurance so that's why its hard to find a place. Thank you.

I am so happy. I got my letter today. Nights and weekends. This is the best news to me because I had to withdraw from the nursing program at a private school because I had to repeat health assessment and it was going to cost $900 for one class I cannot afford that especially since I no longer qualify for grants so I had to withdraw. I cannot wait until I start this program. I feel like I am back home. Congrats to everyone that got there letter today. It's been a long wait. We are on or way.

Can anyone please let me know when you receive your letter weather accept or denial so I can start looking out for it in the mailbox. I have not heard anything yet but I see that last year they sent out the letters the week of July 4th but I do not know when they will go out this year. I have been praying for a positive outcome but preparing for the worse. I have been studying my HESI book like crazy because I am going to keep trying because this is something I want. I know it's not easy to get a denial letter because I have received 2 in the past. But we will see. Good luck everyone and hopefully we will hear something soon.

Ladyinscrubs I have not taken my challenge test yet but I am preparing now to take the mental heath exam because I just ordered the book on line on half ebay the one you recommended Straight A's in and so far the book is great. I look forward to your post everyday. I just wanted to know can you recommend any other books that will help me.

I have spoken with Kim Kimber several times and she gave me some very helpful information plus she got back to me very quickly. I should have contacted her about the last post but I know they are busy with other students so thats why I tunred to allnurses.com to try to get my questions answered by people that have already been through the program. So far since I have enrolled at ISU everyone have returned my calls either by phone or e-mail so that says a lot about a school to me. I do not know the experience that other people have had with ISU but I do believe everyone experiences are all going to be different. I am not the type of person that gets turned off with something just because of a comment. I like to experience things myself and learn from the bad experience if any and grow from the positive experience. With that said since I joined allnurses.com people have been giving me good advice and comments that have been made to others have helped me to and I have decided ISU is the college of my choice only because I have done my research and a lot of colleges her in Jacksonville requires us to have so much and the accreditations are not good. I have a fulltime job and I can not afford to go to school Mon-Fri 8-6. Who's going to help me with my bills? This may be a mistake with me taking this type of program online or it may not be. Excelsior College I was also looking into but the only thing I did not feel was right for me is the clinical time. I would like more clinical time. I have very good study habits and I also have people I can call on for help when preparing for the NCLEX. I know this is going to be a struggle but life is a struggle. I will love to get my RN degree and I feel like this school can help me do it. No school is perfect they all have there flaws. We have some excellent schools here in Jacksonville and I have heard negative things about all of them are they true? Some are true and some not so true but we can not let that keep us from our goal. The more education you get the better. I don't know about you but I want a better education. ISU have positive and negative issues but so do most school. I am willing to fight through all of this to get my degree. That's the most important thing to me.

Do you think it is better for me to take all of the nursing classes first and then the other classes last because it seems to me that the nursing courses are going to be the hardest classes to take. But I do agree with you on not taking them all together because there were a few girls in my LPN class taking general classes and nursing classes and there grades dropped and one of them actually had to repeat a semester in nursing so I really do understand what you are saying about that.

Can anyone tell me if ISU will allow you to take classes at a local college and transfer those classes in instead of us taking them with ISU. They accepted all of my classes because I have a AA degree but I think I have like 7 classes I have to take to gradute with my BSN. The lady called me and told me I can take these courses while in the nursing program but I would really like to take thoses classes locally. Do anyone know? Also I have checked out a few books online that was recommended from this site Get Straight A' in______. Are there anymore books that might come close to the test.

Hello everyone. I will also be starting in the Fall 2012 and it is just a hard decision to make because you have so much information throwed at you and it is very hard to comb through all of it. I talk to the TCN yesterday and I just was not happy with the prices. $25,000 is a lot of money even when you are making payments. I am a single money with a full time job and I just do not have money like that. I really have done my research on ISU. The Florida Board of Nursing recongize them. They are fully accredited which is very good. The BBB gives them an A. So the reserch has been done. I even compared them to other online programs and to me they really stand out. I have been reading comments that others have put on this site about the program and it has been a big help and now I know what direction to take. I will go on amazon.com to see what kind of books I can get to prepare me for the 4 nursing test and then take the TEAS test. I have more classes to take because I do have my AA degree already but ISU stated I can take those while in the nursing program either with them or at a local community college. Thank you all for these post because I was lost with no direction and now I found my way. I will keep you posted on my experience with the program.

I do not believe I will tell someone to bascially giveup because her GPA and TEAS score was low. I actually got into a college in daytona beach florida with a low TEAS score and a 3.0 GPA and it was a BSN program. So I will say try again and again. Yes it is hard to get into nursing school but I will never advise you to give up on your dream. Some one will give you a chance. You may have to settle for a online program in nursing. But never give up.

I think we all forget that we are human and we make mistakes. I have worked around the best nurses and doctors and watched them make tons of mistakes. Yes we have other people lives in our hands but things will happen and we do the best job to correct it but sometimes things happen. Is it ok? NO but we are nurses and we are going to make mistakes. Can we learn from them? Yes but I do not think making comments to make a person feel worst then they already feel is helpful. I say talk to some people to see what you can do if anything. If there is nothing you can do about just pick yourself up and move on and learn from it. You will do better next time. Good luck to you.
