  2. im on med surg right now bro its not hard just get the idea of the pathology of the disorder and focus more on what YOU as the nurse are going to do for that pt. focus more on the intervetions, s/s, drugs, thats what your test are on
  3. yeah pretty much organize your self im on my level 2 and its pretty intense just study your ass off. i work part time and its not as bad as everyone said it would be working part time. but you have to know your study habbits and time management is key.
  4. What is a good LVN program that does't cost over 30k? i want to start next year but I'm doing my research now. I live in Reseda Ca. A program that i can bridge into a lvn to bsn or lvn to rn
  5. yeah there really is no age limit. I used to think 22 was too old to even think of getting into nursing and now i know i started at just the right age
  6. yeah if you aren't working and don't have kids and have free time on your hands you could do it. it would involve a lot of studying a lot a lot of studying and the labs and stuff. just manage your time right.
  7. thanks for all of your advice though =) makes me feel much better about my choice.
  8. im looking to get into a tech school for the lvn program and then work for a couple months to a year then get into a lvn to rn bridge program and go from there. i just want to go to a school that concentrates on what i wanna go already instead of going to a community college and taking classes sometimes not getting in them trying to crash them its all bad at community colleges. thats why i feel a tech school is better route and faster since there arent any waiting list.
  9. so i went to a community college and did horrible i did not know what i wanted to do and would drop classes a lot or wouldnt pass them. my transcrpits look really bad have lots of W's and D's and probably 2 F's, my question is now that i am focused and determined i want to get into a lvn program and from there get into a lvn to rn bridge program. will the community college record effect me at all? like getting into a lvn program will it have any effect? and also getting into a lvn to rn program will it have any effect then? say for example i get get lvn and get my license. when i want to get into a lvn to rn bridge program do i have to show them my community college transcripts?
  10. yeah you're right i want to see my self as a nurse years from now not a driver. My family always tells me to pursue anything i want they dont ask for anything and i feel like maybe thats why i want to help out but im sure ill be able to help out when im a nurse as well. im glad i found this website :) reading all posts motivates me i know other people have it harder than me. thanks bro =)
  11. hello, well to start off im 22 years old, feeling as if its too late to do anything especially becoming a nurse. i see most of my friends or other people that are my age already either almost done with pre reqs or already in nursing school. i went to a community college for about 3 or two years and just messed around i was on academic probation for 3 or two times i think. now i go to a different community college different district to try and start fresh. but i feel that its too late to start pre reqs for nursing. at the same time i have so many family problems. well not many just the fact that we are poor and i have a full time job and help out a lot. and my mom doesnt work so its just my dad and i was thinking of getting my cdl license like him and work for like coca cola and then go back to school and finish. but i feel as if its too late for me. i was thinking instead of getting my cdl license to get into a lvn program and then into a lvn to rn program. theres so many ideas but i just hate seeing my family like this and want to help out and feel comfortable living in a better place and finishing school. but at the same time i think about it when i get cdl license i need experience and thats more time to spend on it and as time goes by ill get older and older. so should i get into a lvn program but i work full time what should i do i need help please anyone that i can talk to here to help me clear my mind about all this and explain what would be a good choice for me. im determined to do good in school now study homework to get good grades. but im still confused on which to do first.
