Welcome David and congrats to you!! We are all so excited and anxious to start. We have a group on Facebook named Loyola New Orleans BSN-DNP all classes. It is a closed group so you need to request to join. It is made up of Cohort #1 & Cohort #2( our group). The group before us are super nice and have given us a ton of info and/or just answered questions. Feel free to share the info with others in our class since there are only a few of us that have found the Facebook page.if you have trouble finding it just let me know. Deidre

I think it is a perfect time to go back to school. I just recently applied to a NP program and I am not currently employed due to a recent move with my spouse. I was accepted and start school this summer. For I think it is perfect because I can totally concentrate on school without having to worry about work. My program is a a DNP program and they encourage students not to work(at least full time) during the program. So go ahead and apply...you never know what they will say until you apply. Good Luck!!

Hello stutztootz congratulations to you as we'll. I have been looking online but not being from the area I don't know what is close and safe! I looked online at the school calendar and unless they change something the dates are May 6-9. If anyone knows a good place to stay or knows any other students that were admitted that could give us some insight let us know.

BORN_2BRN- I am at Fort Polk LA which is about 4 hours away. I just need to find a hotel. Motherofhen-since you are from the area can you recommend some places to stay that are fairly close to the school that are reasonably priced? I have never been to NO and I will be coming there alone...hubby has to stay home with my son who has school. We were going to have a little family vacation but with 3 weeks of school left for the year I don't want to take him out for a week since we moved here in the middle of the school year anyway.

I found the dates on the schools master calendar and I believe the times are 8-5. It's commencement weekend after orientation so I suspect that hotel prices will be up. If we should hear something after spring break, when is spring break?

Not really. She said the faculty had to meet in the next few weeks to give their recommendations then we should hear something. She said once the final decisions were made they would send more info on orientation. I hope it's soon my stomach is all knots now. Are you on Facebook? Motherofhen Have you heard anything yet? Just wondering since you interviewed a little before me. Do we know how they notify us...email or letter?

BORN_2BRN The interview went well (in my opinion). It lasted about 20mins and she just asked me some basic questions like why did I choose this school, what I want to do with my degree, what did I think about the role of an FNP? Easy questions but nothing to really prepare for. She said the faculty has a meeting after all the interviews to submit their recommendations and it is there that decisions will b made. She did say she was not certain if the notice came in the mail only or if we would receive an email and a letter. So I guess I will continue to ruin my manicure while I wait for their response(about to pick up my old bad habit of nail biting ...hoping i will have enough fingerprints left to sign my except acceptance paperwork:nailbiting:)

I was contacted via email from the faculty member conducting my interview. She posted some available days that she would be doing interviews and asked us to respond to which day worked best for us. I had my interview yesterday...now just waiting to hear on the decision of acceptance.

Yes I am at Fort Polk. I just moved here at the end of Jan...I am still unpacking and decorating so hopefully that will help me pass the time. The professor that did my interview said it would be a couple of weeks before we would know anything. Where are you at in Texas? I can't wait to get fully settled so I can make a trip to Houston. I need a real mall!!

...And now the wait begins! Just finished my skype interview. It wasnt so bad once I started talking.Questions were very basic. So far this is the only school that I have applied for so I hope it works out (and i don't have to do any more applications...lol!) JayTeeRN are you in Louisiana or another state?

My interview is also today in a few hours I know they will ask basic questions but I am still a little nervous. I haven't seen much info about he program I am assuming because it recently changed format (BSN-DNP) so it is always good so see fellow applicants. Good Luck to you and everyone!!

Layna22 Do you know when the week of orientation at the school starts? Is it before school starts or does it take place during the first week? I am also waiting to hear from the faculty member regarding my interview. I have to admit I am getting very excited( like I have already been admitted...maybe my gut knows something I don't). I saw earlier where you had already paid your deposit so I was wondering if you had anymore info about what's coming. If we are starting in may everything is going to happen really fast for the later acepted students so I am trying to think ahead.

motherofhen Congrats on getting your interview. I am waiting to hear when my interview will be scheduled. I don't think 40mins is bad. How were the questions they asked you? Was there anything you wished you had looked up prior to your interview. If you are like me the more nervous/antsy you are the better you did. Most of the time when i am like that I have done very well (i am always hard on myself that way). 2-3 weeks huh?? I will be sitting on the edge of my seat with you. I wish you the best of luck and pray that we will all be able to to meet at orientation!

So far so good. We have been offered interviews so that's good. I don't know if they interview everyone or just certain people. This is the first grad school I have applied to. I just recently moved to LA(we are Military) like a month ago and my goal is to finish grad school by the time we retire from the military so I hope this works out. Have you applied anywhere else? Do you live in LA?

Hi Born_2BRN I just asked you on another post if you had applied to loyola. I received the email today as well. I am super excited!! One step closer...have you already set your interview time. I have not but then again I just emailed them my Skype username a few minutes ago. Let me know if you hear anything.

If you don't mind me asking are you interviewing at Loyola in New Orleans? I am doing a Skype interview with them and I am wondering the same thing.
