congrats aes29! I graduated from Dickinson in '08 and also have an MS from Georgetown. I'm excited to start at Pitt, although I'm apartment hunting right now and that's totally stressing me out!

so now I will definitely be attending Pitt's program in the fall. Anyone else??

I also got my rejection letter in the mail today, and my application status was never updated online. Therefore, I'll be attending another program!

Hale.bale - I'm with you on the every 10 minutes refresh!! (except let's be honest here, I've really been doing that all week!) I consider myself VERY lucky to have already been accepted to Pitt, even if it is only for ABSN and I will have to reapply to be an NP. I got into this year's app cycle VERY late in the game, as I didn't for sure decide that I was applying for fall 2012 until about October, and just registered to finish some prereqs (Micro, A&P, Lifespan Development) starting this semester. I still have to take A&P II in the summer, so I'm wondering if that is why they are reluctant on me? I have the healthcare experience and my GPA was fairly good in undergrad and very good in grad school, so I really don't know what else it could be.

This is exactly what admissions told me (I emailed last week, got this reply on Sunday) "I am not sure about the progress for the application decision but I believe the program coordinator will be updating your application status on the website where you submitted your application, if she hasn't already." So basically, at this point I'm thinking I didn't get in, they're just waiting to reject me and I should start planning on Pitt's ABSN for the fall (where I have already been accepted).

@Barbaraleev - I believe the specialties are Adult Acute, Adult Primary, Family, Peds Acute, Peds Primary, Admin, Neonatal, and Psych. Every day that goes by without a decision up I become more and more convinced I'm not getting in ...

@seltsi - congrats! will you be attending NEU then? I also interviewed on Feb. 24th but my decision is still not up, so I don't even know if interview date is what it depends on either!

I interviewed in February as well. Since I was told that all decisions would be out by April 1 at the absolute latest, I doubt they are still interviewing at this point.

I'm still waiting too! Admissions basically told me last week that the program coordinator is updating them as decisions are made, so if my decision was not up already, it "probably will be soon." At this point, even though NEU is definitely a top choice for me, it's not even so much about whether or not I got in ... I just want to know one way or the other!!

@Indigo111 - only a few people actually seem to have decisions up right now. Mine is still not up either!

it seems like decisions are up for some and not for others. did anyone actually get a decision notice and get in? I'm not sure if it's a good or bad sign that I don't have anything yet!

I also don't see anything on mine?

@hale.bale - I actually broke down and emailed admissions today to see if they had a better idea of when we should expect admissions decisions. Can you tell I'm starting to get anxious? haha Haven't heard anything back yet but if I get any real answers, I'll be sure to pass them along!

I'm not in Boston, but I just left the DC area after going to grad school and working there for 3 years, and cost of living was crazy high there and I'm pretty sure that it is similar there. I do have a lot of family in the greater Boston area though so I have a vague idea from them of what to expect. That is a definite plus to PA, it's much cheaper here!

I saw that yesterday too and I may be mistaken, but it looked like the online track was for Nursing Administration only??

I guess I'm glad at least that I'm not the only one going absolutely bonkers from waiting!!

thanks. I actually used to live in New England, but now am in PA, and there are no direct MSN programs here so I applied to Pitt's ABSN because I was fairly positive I would be competitive for it. Northeastern is the only other school I applied to and I love the program so I'm not only on the fence about the whole BSN vs. MSN, but also Boston vs. Pitt. all of which is moot until I hear from Northeastern though!! it's all just so stressful right now!

I'm also getting nervous!! I did get into an ABSN program so that is still an option but I'm so torn between the two right now and I feel like I'm totally in limbo on deciding until I get Northeastern's decision. I just want to know!!

fyi all, I emailed admissions to ask about when we'd hear for sure because I already got accepted to one program and they want me to accept or decline by next week, and I was told today that April 1st is the absolutely latest we'd hear but they are trying to let us know hopefully in the next few weeks! This is really going to test my patience I think!

I think the interview went well, but I prob won't hear from admissions till mid March. I did my undergrad at a much smaller school in central PA, but I'm taking the rest of my prereqs now at Pitt's Johnstown campus and I did look at Pitt originally for undergrad and had friends who went there so I've been there a bunch. I emailed Pitt's admissions today to see if accepting the admissions offer was binding or if I could change my mind later if it happens so hopefully I'll hear back soon! I really want to accept it just in case I don't get in the other school or decide I'd rather go to Pitt.

I was told probably mid-March for a decision, but to check that with Admissions. I definitely asked my interviewer though because I was accepted to another program already and they want me to accept or decline soon.

I just had my interview as well, we talked about why NP rather than MD or PA etc and also about working as an RN through the NP portion of the program. Overall, my interviewer was very friendly and seemed interested in finding out what in my life led me to nursing. She also definitely had my resume in front of her. I interviewed for Adult Primary Care and she also reiterated to me that they accept 24 total per year. I actually wasn't asked at all about my prereqs even though I am finishing then this semester, but I already have a Master's in Physiology so we did briefly discuss that coursework.

my interview is also in a few hours. I'm nervous but glad to hear it seems to be fairly casual. good luck to all!
