Has anyone worked as a manager while attending NP school?
I am an ICU nurse manager and have my MSN in Leadership and Management. I want to apply to a post-MSN certificate program to become a nurse practitioner. I'm wondering if there are any other managers out there who have done this or are thinking of it.

Georgetown FNP Program
If you have a ton of volunteer experience, you may be fine. You should apply anyway. The whole process is a good experience. Good Luck!

Online NP Programs
Hello all, I am an RN (13 years of experience, 6 of those in an ICU) with a cum GPA of 3.4, 4.0 for my BSN. I want to continue my education and become an FNP. There are only 2 schools that offer an NP program in my area. This is part of the reason I am looking at online programs. The other part is that I think they will be very flexible with my work and family schedule. I am looking for information and/or tips from anyone who has done or is doing an online NP program. Thanks for your feedback!

Maryville's Online NP
I don't have PM priveleges on here. I think I can receive, but not send. If you want to PM your email address, I will email you. Thanks! My Cum GPA is ~3.4, 4.0 for my BSN. Plus I have 13+ years experience as an RN, 6 in the ICU. I have not taken the GRE, but am willing to. I got declined from Georgetown recently. I would love to start in January. Thanks again!

Maryville's Online NP
I am thinking of applying. I filled out a form so that someone from there would contact me. Have you had a chance to talk to anyone from there?

Georgetown FNP Program
(sigh) I didn't get in. I think it may be because I didn;t take the GRE. I have 13+ years of expereince and a GPA of 3.4.

Georgetown FNP Program
Thanks! I am really hoping to hear something soon. My application was just completed and accepted on Friday the 17th. I am excited and nervous. Worried about the cost....but I won't ever accomplish my goals if I don't move forward. And I agree with you about GT. For the other schools that I would consider going to iinstead, their cost isn't really that much cheaper. Or they require more on campus visits, which means spending more $ in traveling. Good luck to you in school.

Georgetown FNP Program
Currently waiting to hear back from Georgetown on my application for the FNP program for the term that will begin in June 2012. Just wondering about anyone else who has applied or is in the program....their expereince with the application process and if they have any insight as o the advanages/disadvantages of Georgtown's program over others out there.

anyone currently enrolled in Georgetown?
I applied last week for the term starting June 2012. I'm nervous as all get out, but I am hopeful that Georgetown really does have the best online program out there....and that it really is worth the $$. So much so, I didn't even apply anywhere else. I think the small class sizes and live web-classes are genius and I am confident I will figure out how to pay my student loans when the time comes. Plus I think there is only going to be more demand for FNP's in the future. In both the primary care and hospital setting. :) Good luck to you.

Cheap online MSN / FNP programs
RNbrent- Did you end up going to Georgetown? I have submitted my application and am excited about the program. I have researched the program and I think what I am anticipating the most are the weekly online-live-via-webcam classes with only 10 other students and the professor. As far as I can tell there is not another online FNP program like this. However, the cost of attendance does have me somewhat panicked. Just wondering if you decided to go the Georgoetown route and if you did, how you like it. And if you didn't, where you are going and how you like that program. Thanks!
