FT Mom, FT employee, going back to school
My employer does not pay for schooling but will pay for classes that have to do with my position in a seminar setting. However I am currently in the residential and commercial management so it is a bit different than nursing. I am applying like mad at hospitals and clinics to get my foot in the door as a secretary or billing clerk. With not much experience in the health care field it is hard to get there. I am going to shadow a good friend of mine in the ER soon and I was hoping I can talk or meet someone that is in charge of the area to give me a go at being a HUC or patient check-in. I honestly can do what they ask I just don’t have the medical terminology down. I was thinking of doing the CNA and applying from there but I don’t have a clue. As much as I want to switch to something else I feel leaving my current position for something similar is just dumb unless it was in the medical field. I don’t want to look like a job hopper when I am attending school. Thanks for those websites I will check them out.

FT Mom, FT employee, going back to school
Thank you ladies! I am also planning on taking all the classes I can online before I dive right in. I have friends who have struggled and didn’t have the responsibilities I have but it needs to be done. I look at my kids and think how much better life would be once I have a career path and am more stable for them. Not only I want to do this for myself I am doing this for my girls and our future.

FT Mom, FT employee, going back to school
I work full-time currently and have 2 beautiful daughters. I am now finally realizing what I want to do as a career which is nursing. However, I question if I can do this. I know at some point I will have to cut back work to make day classes that are needed but it scares me. Am I going to be able to give what I need to my family while getting my schooling done? I cant just rely on the husband to make all the money and take care of the kids. He works 24hr shifts and on his part time job he works 8-16hr shifts. I really want this but dont know if I can. I want to but I wonder....
