  1. The facility I work at changed the policy stating that we can not longer release one limb at a time for patient safety. They say the patient is either in restraints or out of restraints there is no in between. I guess a patient could hurt themselves with that one or two dangling restraint, or get themselves into a dangerous position if one or two limbs were released and they tried to fight the restraints. We did not find evidence supporting the release of one limb at a time. We do release the restraint if the patient falls asleep.
  2. I applied in November and interviewed with 8 camps. I kept a list and compared what they offered. What made my decision was the fact that there is a doctor on site, a structured routine for the nurses (compared to having 2 nurses that were on duty 24/7), and a great benefit/pay structure. One camp wanted the tuition to be the only pay I received, that would not work for me. For my daughter I wanted a camp that offered the activities she enjoys, a sense of community, and one that I could see her and be involved in camp activities. I hope to hear more about your decision. The camp websites are a great resource. I am going to Chestnut Lake, but Camp Wicosuta was at the top of my list also. I did not apply at any of the other camps on your list.

Hi Cloudy Sue, I am also going to be at Chestnut Lake this summer! I just had to make a new AN profile as I can't seem to log on to my old one, it has been inactive for a long, long time. I look forward to getting to know you before June 26th. My daughter is joining me, she is 8 and it is our first year at camp also.
