  1. No, nothing yet . You? I might be working out of state full time so idk if I could have started. Things came up. I heard some people got called already. I hope you were one of them
  2. hey! I tried calling and you are soooo right, they give you as little info as possible about the waitlist, its almost like come on, but I honestly think its not lottery and they just tell people that. tuition deposits are due for people who were admitted, it was due may 1st, so there should have been a few spots that opened up. at least 7 to 10 from what I heard over the years, many people have UIC as second choice, especially if they are applying from indiana or wisconsin, they have their own school first and UIC admits them to get more money for out of state tuition but to realize that UIC was not the first choice for them, I am guessing next week people will get called. oriantation is june1st for this coming fall so I am guessing they will get as many people as they can off the waitlists because spots are open now as we speak. school is good, actually if i dont get into uic i might go out of state, we will see. but classes are good and I am still motivated, honestly. if i dont get off the waitlist, i truly truly hope they call you. because you deserve it! stay motivated ! and keep at it, you will make an amazing nurse.
  3. is it a complete lottery?? or do they break the 40 students down into groups and pull that way, like 3 or 4 different groups. or do they just select from all of the students? its sooo wierd they have this systme! they should have ranked the list, or I guess if they rate students in your group. maybe they have like a top group, a medium level and lower level. idk , all the canidates are amazing so that would be a tough one for them
  4. anyone hear anything back about waitlist? or know of anyone that has been taken off waitlist?? i still have no heard a thing besides an email confermation stating they recieved my paperwork
  5. Beyondbeautiful!!I love your words!! You are seriously awesome! Yes! Let's plan on meeting at orientation God willing! You just never know. Only time will tell. So we will see. It's smart for you to put 100 down to secure a seat. And hey, if you get into uic. That 100 will be longggggg gone in your memories! You will be fine and happy you are in the city! So when are we suppose to hear back about wait list? I mean like when should we expect to hear something or when are those taken off going to maybe hear? Is it early may?
  6. anyone here anything back from northern yet???? they said later on this week... its tuesday, so im guessing thursday?
  7. hey Beyondbeautiful how are you? so are you going to st. francis? or are you going to get on the waitlist?? or both? it is more expensive though. yea orgo will be very hard in summer but duable. very duable, just put the time in you know.... we need to wait.. I hate the waitlist but what are you going to do. I wonder how many people are actually on the list in chicago location
  8. Thanks Nursejilly1!! I hope they will be able to tell us what we are ranked when it comes to the waitlist, being waitlisted sucks big time... but what are you going to do... I will call in on Monday to figure out how the wait list works and usually how many people come off of it. I would love to be ranked very high on there but you never know how this thing goes. is it a lottery? is it ranked by gpa?? you dont know, but you opening up a spot for someone gives me alot of hope because i think there are at least 5 or 6 more people in your situation that will choose to go to other schools instead of UIC, so I hope this is the case and at least 9 or 10 spots open... we never know.. only time will tell now...i just cant wait till monday so I can get a hold of someone in the school of nursing and ask about this. if someone gets a hold of Rob or anyone in the school of nursing, can you guys please share what you guys talked about and ask these same questions... good luck everyone, keep the faith thanks
  9. wl1000jae did you get waitlisted?? what are your stats like? its kind of crazy, i do not understand what they are really looking for, i guess we will know more about the waitlist on monday
  10. I got wait listed, I really hope its not a lottery system here, that would be bad, and not fare to those with better grades and overall application, I really do not know whats going to happen and pretty upset over this.. i have not heard back from a school in wisconsin but UIC was my number one choice, if anyone has waitlist info. please let me know!
  11. thanks Momo11 for your very detailed response... you have great great medical experience, I too have my CNA and I let them know that, I had great experience working with senior citizens and I also have another 2 years of medical experience besides that. so medical experience is good for me. my gpa is high and letters of rec should be solid. essays are so so for me, i think they could have been written better. hopefully the medical experience and letters of rec balance it out. your gpa is still solid. and you make a very very well rounded candidate . why dident you apply for UIC location? do you live down south?? and as far as calling them, they never ever pick up.
  12. you are awesome kate!!! you are going to make an amazing nurse fyi! you have a great way of looking at things honestly. its just crazy to know that this school is many peoples top choice and dream nursing school. i know its mine for sure, ohh yea. luck is for sure... but luck = preparation + opportunity.
  13. @momo11 they said that emails will go out early to mid april... they really stressed the fact emails will go out asap... I truly believe they are done reviewing the applicants and they are just grouping everyone and getting ready to send out a mass email to those who got in, wait listed, and rejected as well as letters. Its now april 6th, and after this weekend I feel it will be sometime next week when we find out... if you dont mind me asking. what was your gpa and medical experience and etc?
  14. I was very shocked to see UIC last year was at 88 percent... i was going to go to a school in wisconsin this spring because I might live there in the future and I wonder what those ratings are like, anyway I am very very nervous. its only a matter of time now... maybe sometime early next week we will know who got in. Do you think people that have a 3.9 or 4.0 gpa applying have a head up on people with 3.6 and 3.7. ? i mean the obvious answer is yes, but is it that much of a bigger gap?? do you think UIC really takes grades into account 33% of the decision or is it more given these ratings of 88 percent NCLEX pass rate?? there goal is to bring it up I hope. I wonder if they will get in based off of that " gpa" if they had some experience in health care with decent essays, not even great essays.
  15. yes, email... so I am guessing for sure next week we will know
  16. thank you! its getting down to the final days now.... if not this week, i have a strong feeling next week for sure
  17. so guys, I heard people In urbana location got their acceptance letters already!!!!!!!!!! well today i think they received emails! wow, a few more days and we find out. people who have not joined this thread feel free to do so at anytime. let us know if you guys got into urbana, and even if you received Chicago emails, but those wont be out till a few more days or a week or so. goodluck everyone
  18. This is just crazy, I wonder if the schools know about this. do you guys think UIC really stresses GPA more than what they say?? they said its 33 percent of the decision that they make is based off of GPA. 33 for essays, and 33 for experience and recommendations. but given these NCLEX ratings, I think they want to push them up back to the mid to upper 90's again. because being in the 80's does not make you look good as a program. So GPA must be stressed more than what they said
  19. no but i heard from many, sxu is sooo over rated its insane... i heard the teachers are horrible!!!!
  20. well, regardless of UIC passing rate, i know what kind of student I am, and i know I will pass that with no problems. God willing of course. But to tell you the truth, i am so so so so so so nervous about getting in there, I want to so bad and I dont know how the committee will view things, we find out in mid april and I am counting the seconds.

  22. dont go to SXU, there are horrible at treating transfer students!! they make you wait a year, although they tell you one semester, thats a bunch of BS. all the teachers are not organized at all!! and they dont care, plus they are raising tuition 4% this year, so more money out of your pocket, its 2.5 years. I would try UIC or NIU or even lewis before SXU... the teachers stress the students out here way way way way too much for no reason
