I found out I was accepted to the adult-gero primary track on April 26. My email is [email protected] if you want to stay in touch. Congrats whoever got in. No idea how they are doing the admission process.

I have been popping in from time to time but I already got into UCF ABSN 4 weeks ago...that's right I said 4 weeks ago and yes these programs start at the same exact time; I cannot believe how long this is taking for UF. Obviously I accepted UCF since UF is taking so long. The deadline for UCF was January 15th and for UF it was Feb 1st so not much of a difference there. Also I know USF had a deadline of March 1st and they found out 2 weeks later so what the heck. Just a warning for those end up going to UF, based on all the stuff that needs to be done before classes start in May, it is going to be a very hectic April for all of you. The stuff I've been doing for UCF includes background check, fingerprints, drug test, physical, TB test, immunization records along with getting new immunizations. Not even to mention the financial aid process, finding an apartment, making your schedule (classes and clinicals), doing the regular orientation plus the nursing orientation, getting your BLS/CPR certification from AHA, taking the HIPPA class. There's probably more that I am forgetting and all of this costs lots of money so I hope people have some cash on the side or a nice credit card (my route unfortunately). UF really disappointed me, at this point I am hoping to get rejected so I know I made the right choice by accepting to UCF but if I do get accepted I will be sure to let them know right away that someone else can have my spot. Another thing that makes me mad is how UF has absolutely no website for us postbacc students to check on our stuff...for all I know, my application materials may have never even made it to UF! UCF had a very good way of checking that all of your materials were received online and you could email/call the nursing office and always get an email back/someone to talk to on the phone. We received an EMAIL on March 2nd letting us know if we were accepted or denied. My suggestion to all of you that have already gotten accepted somewhere else: GO THERE, don't go to UF because just look at how sloppy this process has been compared to the schools that accepted you already. This isn't the 1980's anymore, everyone has an email....Anyway for those who are still hoping and praying and waiting, I wish you all the best of luck, hang in there!

Diegoseesnurses, I hope you checked your email because there is a form you had to sign and return to accept the position and it was due 3/16. Those who accept will be getting emails soon on what the next steps are.

I was accepted and told I needed to reply by today 3/16, I did so and was told to expect an email AFTER that deadline with all the details, so I assume those on the waitlist will be hearing next week.

Congrats gardyloo! What other school are you considering? Don't forget you must decide by march 16th for ucf

Zeus, yes I am committing to ucf, not only is ucf my first choice but I wouldn't wait around for the other schools decisions. Nikki, I dont have a Facebook right now but I'll start it back up soon and find the page, thanks for making it.

I faxed it and scanned/emailed it already lol. I've had paperwork lost at schools before so I'm not taking any chances. Anybody going to march 30 regular ucf orientation?

That's exactly what I was thinking about the email time, a bunch of crazy excited breathless people would be calling along with a bunch of crazy disappointed breathless people. Better to let the news sink in over the weekend

I'm in club crazy too. If we don't find out tomorrow, another week would be that much more brutal. Thanks for the help and encouragement current absn students. Good luck as you come closer to the end!

For non-UCF students, we still would have to go to a regular orientation if we get into the absn right?

Thank you everyone for your help, I can see it now. My gpa stats look about right. I noticed they used sociology for me as well Pinkstring and I too took both psych and socio but luckily for me I earned an A in both. I would email them asap if I were you because it does clearly state you can use either one and it wouldn't be fair for you. Maybe they are not using psych anymore? Anyway, I think the degree audit being up means 1 of 3 things for us: They finished making the decisions (I hope), they haven't started making decisions (I hope not), or absolutely nothing because they just happened to finish all approvals and enter them today (most likely). I can't imagine why degree audits being up would mean we are accepted but that would be nice lol. Either way hopefully we find out Friday. I'm glad I have a job to keep the time passing but it sure doesn't do much to keep my mind off it. I was hoping to be able to see the TEAS score on the audit to make sure it is correct but I guess not.

I have never used the degree audit function. What do you do after you click the degree audit tab? When I click it, it shows my name and ID and major: nursing pending. Request degree audit blah blah blah

Wow those are some pretty good stats to not get in last year, that worries me. Hopefully your new prerequ grades will get you a new result.

Wow April? That sucks. I should be hearing back from UCF Friday and I would think that I would have to give my answer before April if I get in...

I'm assuming we'll hear on Friday but I don't want to get my hopes up and then there is the whole part with getting either accepted or denied....

What is a degree audit? Does this only apply to UCF students?

I'm applying for the USF summer 2012 accelerated program as well. I submitted my application already. I made sure to write about how I became interested in Nursing, my work as a CNA, volunteer work in hospitals, shadowing experiences, leadership as a teacher assistant in college, and hope for further advancement in nursing. I just graduated in December with my bachelor's degree in Biology and minor in chemistry, overall GPA of 3.7. Hopefully this is enough to get me in and hopefully we find out end of March. I wish USF used some sort of entrance test because I had to to take the TEAS for UCF and GRE for UF. I think I did well on them: 92.7% on the TEAS and 166 math 154 reading 4.0 writing on the GRE. Those are the only 3 schools I applied to so I hope I get in somewhere!
