2nd Degree issues
I am currently working on my prereqs. The school I would like to apply for the ABSN (CSU San Marcos) Nursing department told me that in order for them to review my transcripts, I would have to take the TEAS (which I am preparing for now), submit my scores, application and transcripts. I considered doing the ADN, but I hear so many negative things about doing that degree versus the BSN when I already have a bachelors degree. I was told that its VERY hard getting a job with an ADN versus a BSN, and the difference in pay. I'm not going in to nursing for the money, but it is an important factor, for most, you know? So, I just want to make the smarter decision. My goal is to get into nursing and perfect my craft. I don't want to have to return to school later because I didn't make the right choice the first time.

2nd Degree issues
Hi everyone. So, I am looking for any advice that I can get on this one. I currently have a Bachelors Degree in Business/Human Resources. I am looking to cross over and go for my ABSN. The problem I have is, one I don't really qualify for very much financial aid because this would be my second Bachelors degree. Also, I filed for Bankruptcy last year (didn't try to wipe out any student loans), but this hurts my chances of getting any type of personal loans. My credit is not all that good, but need to know if there are any other options as far as financial assistance to pay for nursing school. I have looked for scholarships, but it seems like I can't apply to them until I am accepted into a nursing program. I live in Murrietta, CA and would like ANY helpful information. Thanks in advance.

National University Workload
I am in the process of applying to National Unviersity for my BSN and would like to know what to expect in my daily schedule. I am working full time right now and have considered maybe working at night part time, but need some guidance. How does your schedule look while doing the prerequisites through National? Is there an option to do prereq's at night? How many classes do you take at a time (I know they now have monthly classes). Is it unrealistic to think I can work and do prereq's? What about when I actually am "in" the program. Any help is appreciated!

National University RN program beware
Are you located in California GonnaAmazeYou? I am located here and it's nice to hear something good about National. I am considering signing up for my BSN.

Prerequisite Question
jocy_anne thank you for your advice also. I will look into Biology. I feel like I NEED to get started on this as soon as possible. I am not getting any younger and have had nursing on the brain for years! Seems like forever. Let me ask you this, if I am not thee best at Math, is Nursing School gonna be harder for me to complete?

Prerequisite Question
Calitotter3, this is a great idea! I will look into the closest college to me to start on any missing prereq's. Let me ask this... Does it look bad if I get my prereq's done in different schools? For instance, I know that I can take English, Math and Speech in the nearest school to me (Miramesa College), but will have to look into another school to get the sciences done most likely. Does this look bad when it comes time to apply for a nursing program, or does it just matter that the classes are successfully done?

Prerequisite Question
So, I am looking at several different nursing schools here in San Diego. I have had my eye on Mira Costa, Grossmont, CSU San Marcos, Palomar and Point Loma Nazarene. I'm trying to find the closest to me (Rancho Bernardo) and best choice. So, I considered taking prerequisites, then realized how these different schools have their own set of prerequisites. How do you all suggest I get started on this nursing journey? Do I take as many classes as possible, or is there a set of prereq's I can get started on now. Maybe I can be given some basic guidance on this website. Is there a Thread about getting started? As far as literally where to start, how to choose a school, making the best decision for you? I need as much help as possible. I am 37 this year, and have a Bachelors in Business and am trying to jump into school as soon as possible. With 3 kids and a spouse, it's time to get this cracking. Thank you in advance for ANY helpful responses.:)

National University San Diego- Need info about the BSN Generic Entry
Hi RN@BSanDiego! I have yet to start my prereq's, but had a few questions for you. Are you taking your prereq's with National? If so, what time of day/night do they offer? How long will it take you to complete your prereq's? What was the process like enrolling with National? So far, all I've done was had an initial meeting with a counselor (who talked VERY fast). She gave me a catalog and a lot of paperwork. I applied with FAFSA and am trying to figure out what to expect next. Any help will help. Thanks in advance.

National University RN program beware
Is this just for Nevada? I have been considering National University to do my BSN. I also can't find anything online about this.
