  1. Hi DJGifford, That is really unfortunate that one of the exercise science workers told you this. I have a MS in EP and am finishing up a nursing degree. Please don't let this cause you to think poorly of all EP's. In my experience it goes both ways...some nurses tend to think that exercise is something very easy to understand (I had a professor in nursing tell me that studying exercise physiology was a waste of time) and some EP's have little respect for nurse's (which is unfortunate also!) I've learned much studying nursing and I know there will be much more to learn while working as a nurse, however, EP's (not sure if ES is as specialized) study specifically how different stress affects the body of both healthy and the clinical populations. Both fields are so important to health care for both prevention and rehab. It's important though that EP's are honest with their scope but respectful to learning from others just like it is for nurses as well. Sorry for the unprofessionalism this worker expressed!
  2. Hi, I was wondering if you ended up pursuing the job at CVPH? If so what do you think about the work enviornment? Do you feel it was a good place to start as a new RN? I know its a very pretty part of upperstate NY but I've never been there long enough to really know the community. Have your family/kids been able to adjust well? Thanks!

Thanks for your response...LoL makes sense! :)

Was not having much luck on the student board so I decided to try asking those in the big league...If you are a student and someone asks during class "has anyone seen someone that has had such and such treatment?" Can you answer "yes I know someone that has had this done right now". Would this be in violation of HIPAA? What if the Professor asks you if you had seen this at a specific clinical. Is answering the teacher a violation?

Esme12, HIPAA...whoops. I actually looked at that cite prior to posting but was still unsure about this particular scenario like can you respond in class w/out mentioning a name or obvious identifiers , but more importantly can you answer a professor that has asked you in class where you have seen this? Thanks for your response.

Would this be in violation of HIPPA? What if the instructor asks you if you had seen this at a specific clinical place. Is answering the teacher a violation?
