waiting is killing me

hale.bale i think umass is really behind on the admissions timeline. Even if you were to get an interview this coming week there is a chance they wouldn't be able to tell you until two weeks later. :/ rough it out until the last day maybe.

lovepink, when you interviewed did they tell you you would hear this week or next? I had an interview last week but they said that they only meet twice a week so I wouldn't hear a decision until a week from thursday so I am a little confused. also what track did you get into? and of course congrats by the way!

I am on the Regis waitlist for DE program. Anxiously waiting.

okay this might be a little to far; but considering we were told exact opposite information is there any chance she is trying to dissuade you because she knows your chance on the list...? simmons is generally much higher ranked than regis is there a reason you don't know which you want? (just wondering)

Jrwinney- I spoke with an admissions counselor yesterday who told differently...

I was accepted into the hybrid program and I was wondering if anyone out there can clarify somethings before I try to speak to someone in admissions. - Is more than your first year online classes? - it says in the acceptance information you can choose between Nursing Admin and NP but the way people have been talking it seems more limited than that. - If you defer do you have to still pay the deposit? Or any thoughts, criticism, warnings people have about the new hybrid program would be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone heard anything? Are we all just waiting with crossed fingers? I looked online and the deposit for accepted students is due this Friday so hopefully they have the next people being taken off the wait list lined up and ready to be sent out? sooooo agonizing

Are all of you waiting and anticipating people who had interviews? I didn't get an interview but when I called admissions they implyed that they were still giving them out? I don't know if this was just a tactic to avoid stating that I was rejected over the phone.

wow 60 people is actually surprisingly low. If you think about the number of people that seem to be going elsewhere that leaves a lot of chances for us. Fingers crossed.

Got called for an interview this morning. Does anyone know if with UMASS getting an interview is like with Northeastern where it basically signifies you got in?

wow I haven't seen this forum yet but it just lifted my spirits. I thought I was rejected from everywhere because I assumed UMASS had already sent out requests for interviews. Its gives me a little spark of hope that they haven't yet. Keep me posted if anyone hears anything. Thanks!

I signed into my N-portal and the check box next to "My decision is ready" is not checked. I also can not find anything on my regular application help me someone.

Back to the topic of admissions. I just spoke with them and they said applications are reviewed in batches so if you are comparing yourself to others receiving interviews or letters/calls, that does not mean anything as you may simply be reviewed in a later batch.

Thanks for the updates you guys. While I should maybe just move onto other options and forget about DE programs until it is time to apply again, having that last bit of hope that a spot will open up for me to be removed from the wait list is a hard thing to ignore. Knowing that there are so many obviously amazing students choosing to go elsewhere and opening up spots brings me a lot of hope. Thanks for the encouragement!

So regis waitlist (which I got put on from EA) is now my only option. Anyone know anything about when people start hearing? Or let me know if you get off the waitlist?

Thanks annieob, I appreciate the comment a lot actually. I checked in with admissions today and you are correct. The waitlisted EA candidates are reviewed beginning in march and through august as spots become available. A frustrating situation because there is no specific time frame to expect a decision and if I was to get into somewhere lower on my list than Regis (of which most of my schools are) then I wouldn't really know what to do.

so i hate to be the downer but am I correct that if we have not been asked for an interview we are effectively rejected?

I applied EA and was wait listed from the EA list which is supposedly better than being deferred to regular decision but I don't quite understand the difference. Its also frustrating because it means my time line to hear from them is anywhere from around now until the beginning of next semester. Any insight?

Bluskyy, I prepared a lot for the interview and then it kind of all went out the window. Pretty typical questions. Why do you want to go into this field? Why do you think Regis would be the right program for you? Tell me about how you got to this point? etc.. If you are able to describe why you want to be an NP and why you think you are a good fit for the career path and specifically for Regis you will be all set.

I interviewed before I sent in my Regis application, I contacted the admissions counselor by email and set up an over the phone interview. It was very low key. I got my letter on January 11th stating that I had been wait listed and would be re-reviewed (but not deferred to) with regular admission. Im having a little trouble understanding how that is different from deferal but I am just happy to not be rejected. What specialty did you apply for? And yes I heard that from MGH too I was just hoping that was just what they said and not the reality of it. I hate waiting.

I applied to Women's health Dual Adult at MGH and Women's Health at Regis. I am also applying to Northeastern, UMASS, Pace (NYC), and lastly and most unlikely Simmons. My top choices are MGH and Regis because I really want to do Women's health. I applied early to Regis and was wait listed which I guess is a good sign because they could have taken that opportunity to reject me. All my applications are in and waiting around for the next couple months is going to be brutal. MGH said by the end of March Anyone have any info about when any of these schools send out decisions. I just want to know!
