  1. Hello, again! I have not received my orientation packet. I'll be glad to launch a quick post when it does. I received my notification of acceptance on April 4, and the message noted that it would arrive within 2 weeks. Today (April 20) was the confirmation date for accepting the slot, so I imagine that the packet will arrive next week. I hope you all continue well!
  2. Hello, everyone! I have been accepted into the Motlow Nursing Program and was curious if anyone had any insight into the amount of time they spent studying out of class for the Nursing I course. I understand that class takes place twice a week (3 hours each)--with an additional 7am-2pm clinical/practice component. How much time did you devote to this course outside of these hours? Any information you might have about time required, test structure, assignments, etc. would be appreciated. Thanks!
  3. Hi, Lauren! Would you like to send me a private message. Maybe we could exchange email addresses? Thanks!
  4. Way to go, Lauren! I'm so excited . . . looking forward to meeting you and June (and studying with you for the next couple years!) :)
  5. I'll be at the Smyrna campus, but I look forward to seeing you and the rest of the class at orientation in Moore County on June 1. See you then!
  6. Congratulations, achavez . . . I made it, too! I was ecstatic as I opened that email message! Maybe we'll see each other at the orientation June 1! :)
  7. Hi, all! I, too, applied to Motlow for Fall12. My understanding is that your 'acceptance letter' is delivered by email to your Motlow student account. I'll will post an update as soon as mine arrives. Might you do the same so we'll know when to "be on the lookout"? Thanks . . . and good luck!
  8. Hi, sarjan . . . In case you have not received a response, I took the HESI today, February 9, 2012, and, yes, a calculator was available on the computer. The testing center also had a limited supply of hand-held calculators avaliable. Further, we were permitted to bring in a non-graphing calculator of our own. I would recommend bringing your own non-graphing calculator (I feel they are easier to use than the one on the computer, and you'll be familiar with the 'feel' of your own calculator). As for the reading comprehension section, no, you cannot highlight the passages in any way. The passages were numerous (~8) and relatively short (3-4 paragraphs). The passages appear in a separate window, which we had to click and drag around to view the questions about the passage. It was a slight nuisance but nothing too 'debilitating.' Yes, you can take a break after each section--and even take the sections in the order of your preference. We were allotted three hours to take the test--so you had to complete all sections of the test (and fit in any breaks) in that window. I felt there was ample time to take the test. I generally move quickly through tests; I think I took only 100 of the 180 minutes allowed. I hope this helps. Good luck!!
