  1. what if u had a positive ppd (due to bcg from the 80's) jan 2011, negative chest x ray in jan 2011. how do you avoid getting the xrays (cause of the radiation) if you have no symptoms of tb? especially to get a healthcare job?
  2. thanks. you put my mind at ease. 3 weeks orientation and 24 pts sounds ok. will check that website :loveya:
  3. if i were to work in a nursing home 1.)how do you handle medication/patient teaching to elderly who are confused, have alzheimers, non verbal? + documenting 2.)what to do when you have 30+ patients, like 2 hours to give meds, drug interactions considering most will have about 5+ different prescriptions, drug calculations, refusals, etc? asking cause i would like to do the right thing.
  4. thanks caliotter.
  5. @ meriwhen "Congratulations! I would be careful though especially since they're rushing to hire you. It doesn't necessarily mean you're walking into a bad situation, because you very well could have just been at the right place at the right time and landed the job. But make it a point to learn ASAP what you've just gotten yourself into. I always feel mixed upon hearing that someone was hired on the spot. On the one hand, I'm very happy that someone got a job in this tough economy. On the other hand, I also feel bad for the other applicant(s) for that position, each of who will be getting a phone call or letter that starts off with, "I'm sorry, but..." wow they call and let u know they found someone? i applied online to a city hospital 4 days ago and have a feeling they wouldnt even be that courteous
  6. Say you are a new grad..if an interviewer ask for 2 references ...and you want to use a previous clinical professor 1-are photocopies of that letter acceptable? 2-Are just providing their name and number ok? 3-What if you havent interacted with that person in a while? 4- what if you hardly have professional references any ideas sorry for asking so many questions lol but seriously
  7. other thing to ask is... 1.)how do you handle medication/patient teaching to elderly who are confused, have alzheimers, no verbal? 2.)what to do when you have 30+ patients, like 2 hours to give meds, drug interactions considering most will have about 5+ different prescriptions, drug calculations, refusals, etc?
