  1. Thank you so much for posting this question. I was wondering the same thing myself. I have three daughters, 13, 10, and 7...my hubby is an elementary teacher and minister. Life is hectic as it is - without me going to school. These tips were wonderful. I LOVE this site.
  2. Hi! I have anxiety as well...I take Zoloft (the minimum that I can get by with) and it truly helps. I've often wondered how nursing might affect this...but I believe I can manage it.
  3. Yep, try to have whichever college you choose assign you an advisor as soon as possible. Good luck! :)
  4. "...while mine has to not only memorize this stuff, but worry about bills, the house, the girls blah blah the list goes on." Oh, how I can relate to that! Shanna
  5. Hi Mudnuri, I'm going to have my oldest daughter help me with memorization, too! It helps to have helpers. Yes, it can be very overwhelming. I had A&P I in '94 and I'm taking it over again in the fall...I hope I can recall some of my stuff...but I'm seriously doubting it.
  6. Thank you...I will! I think curtailing the worrying will be a real problem for me...but I'm going to make an honest effort not to.
  7. Thanks for the pointers! And Timothy, I really enjoyed reading your stories on the ghost story thread! Grannynurse...I guess I live too far away. Shucks. :stone
  8. Mind if I borrow him? :chuckle
  9. I hope so! I'll check out the Dummie book for it...those are usually pretty good. Thanks for all the input! Shanna
  10. Thanks! You most definitely have my admiration! I'm going to commit to doing 1 chapter week before I have to actually take it. That way I won't be completely lost.
  11. I'm really dreading statistics. I'm not mathmatically-minded and I just bought a book on beginning statistics to try to get a leg-up with it. We really don't have any pre-requisite for it, either. Whoa boy. :uhoh21:
  12. I'm so glad you asked this question. I'm hard of hearing also and wondered how this was going to affect clinicals, etc.
  13. I've heard Curves is great! If you can't get to Curves there are several really good home videos out there. The yoga helps to relax me...it really stretches out those bunchy muscles. I used to do some pretty intense weight work until this happened. Once upon a time I was in good shape. Now I'm the human equivalent to the schmoo (Anyone remember that cartoon? I just showed my age ) I take the minimum dose of Zoloft...it certainly does help me considerably and the low carb thing is the way to go. I've been eating a lot of veggies from garden (mainly squash and tomatoes) so that helps. I'm glad to hear that your hubby is doing well. My little sis had advanced thyroid cancer but has recovered nicely. I love a happy story. :)
  14. Thank you for your prayers...I need them! I manage...I never let it get me down and I refuse to let it dictate my life. I'm currently taking Zoloft and I'm going to go the way of low carb. I walk and do yoga. I appreciate the advice you all have given very much. Coopergirl...I'm very sorry to hear about your husband.
