Why wasn t it prescribed IV?

Hello, So they said "it's only going to get better". It's getting worst for me. 2days ago, we were short of staff. We had another nurse come from another floor to work for 4hours only then after that we were going to split patients (each nurse was going to get an extra patient) When the nurse was leaving, I was on my break. So I don't know who she gave report to. When I came back, it was time to give meds so i got caught up with my meds and no one gave me report about the extra patient. I only realized at the end of the shift when the nxt nurse was looking for the papers. How bad is this? I did go back and give the meds but It makes me feel irresponsible. Is it my fault or a shared one with the one who didn't pass out the report (because i am sure someone did take the report)

Hello :) I know that corticosteroids increase your blood sugar. I have seen patients on cbgm bid while on cortico while for others it s qid and i have seen some pts on corticosteroids but are not on cbgm So how does the MD decide to put the patient on cbgm and the times and for how long should we follow up with the blood glucose when the pt is on prednisone for example Thank you :)

My co-workers aren't (besides one or two)

Hello! I m a new RN on A med-surge floor and most of my co-workers are old nurses that have been on that floor for years! They don't seem to like me and i have NO idea why! I am a quiet person. I mean i like to socialize but I am not that loud person ( because I still feel a stranger to the floor). Anyways some of them ignore me if I ask a question, others yell at me for the smallest mistakes ( one yelled at me cause I didn't change the NS bag that was good for another 3hours and even tho I put a new bag in the room, she wanted it change) i am nice to them! I try to talk and use humour but most of them just give me the look and roll their eye! How should I treat them or deal with them?

I always screw up when dealing with doctors! So yesterday I paged the MD cuz my pt's B/p was low (even after he ordered a bolus) and when i was giving him report I was like so at 18 b/p on the right arm was this and on the left arm was this at 18:30 on the right arm was this and on the left arm was this at 19...... And after I was done he goes like "so for the next time, just to make your life easier, take it only in one arm, it's enough" hahah

Hehehe Yes that's my prayer before each shift "dear God, don't let anyone code on my shift"
