Hi JEN_NURSE, I am about to graduate from Glasgow University myself this september with my bachelors in adult nursing. I already have a greencard and my family still live over in bay area, california. I was wondering if you had gotten any further with your training in the states and if you had managed to pass your NCLEX exam? I am really struggling to find information about how to go over and work as an RN in california. Any help or any information would be much appreciated!!

hi i was wondering if you ever made it to america?? i am currently at glasgow doing my general adult nursing degree and like your course we dont do pediatrics, obstetrics or psychiatry. i was just wondering what you did in the end??? was there a uni that gave you the hours you needed?? did you have to pay?? im considering doing the 18month midwifery conversion course but dont know if it is worth it if i could do it a shorter way as the course is so oversubscribed now!!!! please help ive been on here for hours!!!!

Hi, i was just wondering if anyone could clarify a few things for me. i am currently in a scottish nursing school studying general adult nursing and i was just wondering because we dont cover paediatrics, obstetrics and psychiatry which are areas you must have theory and practical experience in before you can even sit the NCLEX exam how do scottish registered nurses make it to america?? is there a conversion course??? how did you get around it??? i have a green card so dont need to worry about immigration thankfully.

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone could answer a few of the questions that i have. i am currently in a scottish nursing school but am hoping to move back to the us to work preferably in a labour and delivery department but anywhere really that will take me. i have a greencard but was just wondering in the scottish system for the general adult nursing program we dont cover paediatrics, obstetrics or psychiatry which are all requirements for working in the usa. how did scottish qualified nurses get around this?? will i have to do a midwifery conversion course first to be eligible to work in a us hospital as an RN in the maturnity ward???? is the nclex relatively easy to pass??? and how difficult was it finding work once you were there???
