I was recently accepted into a BSN program! Yay!!! I already have a previous Bachelor's degree in the sciences, and I have already taken anatomy, physiology, microbio, and stats as well as all my lib ed requirements from my previous bachelor's degree. Due to having taken all those classes already, I'll only have to take 7-11 credits per semester to graduate with my BSN. My question is do I choose Option 1: take the 7-11 credits and be able to work/volunteer more? Or Option 2: try to take more classes and maybe work towards a public health minor? I eventually want to go on to get my DNP. Which option would grad schools prefer? Do grad schools care about credit load or do they mostly care about GPA? Would having a minor in public health make a difference in getting into grad schools? Is anyone else in a similar situation? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I applied to the entry level masters program at the U of MN and made it as far as the interviews, but I did not get in Luckily, I also applied to the BSN program at the U of MN as my back up plan, and I was accepted!!! It's not the path to nursing I originally planned on but it still leads to an RN! I am so excited and can't wait to get started!

I got an email and unfortunately I was not accepted into the Master of Nursing program. But luckily I also applied to the BSN program at the U of M, and I just got an email saying I was accepted!!! I was devastated when I got the rejection email but getting into the BSN program made my day!!! It's not the exact path to nursing that I had originally planned on, but it still leads to an RN!!! I can't wait

Yeah, the email said late-March so hopefully next week sometime!!

My interviewer basically stuck to the questions that were given to her. She didn't ask much about my application material.

I'm sure you did fine too. I think mine went okay...I felt like we went through the list of interview questions pretty fast, but I filled the rest of the time by chatting with her and asking questions about the program. I just hope I did enough to get in!

I'm done with my interview. Now we play the waiting game again. It's a good thing we only have to wait a week to find out! I hope we all get in! Good luck midlifemom! You will do great!

I haven't heard yet either. A friend of mine currently in the program said that she did not get emailed until about 9 days before her interview date.
