  1. my BFF did B then C and she did fine. on top of that she moved in the middle of work, school, and 8 months pregnant. she is now working on her DNP and has baby #2, she said that doing it while the baby is a newborn is much easier, she works on school while the baby naps. you can do it.
  2. AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! I got into Mizzou PNP/DNP!!!!!!!
  3. would it be super inappropriate to contact the SON admin assistant to see when they anticipate sending letters? i would just like to have an idea so that i dont almost vomit every time i check the mail. UGH!!!!
  4. this wait is KILLING me!!!!! i have no clue how many people they interviewed, but now im starting to think it was a lot if its taking 3 weeks for a decision. and the more time that passes, the more i pick apart my app and interview and feeling like it sucked and i wont get in. im going to be crazy by the time letters are sent!!!!! this is horrible!!!!! how long has everyone been waiting (or waited if you already got a letter)?????
  5. this wait is KILLING ME!!! they said two-three weeks before letters would be sent out. im hoping they were over estimating. i wish they would just send out a rejection letter if thats what its going to be! they have to know right away if youre out right????
  6. bkennedy~ i wouldnt worry about the essay length. one school i applied to wanted a 5-6 page SINGLE SPACED essay, others wanted a 500 word essay....its just all in what they ask for.
  7. thanks :) my interview was friday. i did have some "typical" questions and answers written out. the interview was via skype and i had the notes open in another window lol. i felt like the interview went well, but im still not optimistic. we'll see. hope you get your interview soon....you will do great! :)
  8. my gpa is very similar also....3.3 overall, 3.7 nursing. i interviewed with U of Missouri last friday. i initially felt very good about the interview. but as the days pass, waiting for "the letter" i feel more and more pessimistic. i had a bangin' essay, but otherwise feel very mediocre. le sigh. :/
  9. I just finished up with my interview. I felt very prepared and felt like I answered all of the questions with pretty good responses. But, I'm just worried I didn't say anything that would make me stand out over the other applicants. That was actually one of the questions, and I don't think I had a stellar answer. I felt very composed and articulate. I really did the best that I could have hoped for, I was imagining much worse. Decisions will be sent out mid April. Although I feel like I did well, I still don't feel confident that I will make it. :/
  10. THey must have been ok, got me thru the first round and I interview tomorrow. I had 1 PhD former instructor from 12 years ago, a masters level nurse manager, and the HR director who has a masters in social work. They asked for 3 doctorate or masters prepared nurses, and that's what I gave them...2 nurses, 1 social worker. Oh well
  11. my friend got her BSN and MSN from MUSC....getting her DNP from USC. she says the USC program is somewhat lacking, she wished she had gone to MUSC.
  12. Am I stressing too much about my PNP/DNP interview tomorrow. I think I'm prepared, but afraid I will loose my train of thought because I'm so nervous and come across as a bumbling idiot! I know the interview is important, but am I putting too much pressure (which leads to anxiety) on myself????? I can't wait until its over! Anyone else stress this much over interviews????
  13. excellent questions! thanks!!!! not planning on teaching....for now anyways. just getting the DNP because of the new requirements. i would probably have gone for a DNP anyways though to further my career and open up news doors past being a PNP.
  14. Who did you interview with? What other questions did they ask?
  15. Wish I could :/ it's not financially possible to travel from NC to MO right now. I'm assuming that they totally understand being that this is a 100% online program and most of the student population would be out of state. But I do wish I could.
