  1. I start in September hamner76....and I agree 100%....I'm excited, and deep down I KNOW that I can do it....but I'm TERRIFIED of failure...it's a horrible mixture of emotions. I'm a 34 year old woman who has been married for quite a few years and I have kids - 2 with special needs. It's going to be a lot to juggle. Just tell yourself that you CAN and you WILL do it - you have came this far.
  2. Yup, that's the one that I took :)
  3. I start PN at Centennial College in September as well and I took mine through TorontoCPR - they certify through Red Cross and run classes all the time. The instructor, ****, was fabulous!! Toronto CPR
  4. Hi all, this sounds interesting. As a first year nursing student, I am fairly new to this forum (although I was an aide prior); I'm just wondering, how do we post an article? Thanks.
  5. Welcome!!! I'm also a newbie...registered in the 2 year PN program...doing my electives this summer semester for the 2 years though before "officially" starting in September. Just wanted to space out the workload a bit and get active!!! It's going to to be a wild ride for us, but I'm sure we will do great.
  6. Also, I only live at most, a 10 minute drive from the Morningside campus - we live in the Heron Park area, so not much commute at all.
  7. Yes, after speaking with the program coordinators, I learned that I can take my Comm 170, Human development and the 3rd semester GNED this summer. It's costing me a little more this way, but for me and my particular situation, it will be well worth it. The classes get started in 3 weeks now. My goal is to definitely bridge over - earning my PN first though just seemed to be the right route for me. I can help to put myself through school much better with a part time PN job over something like serving coffee at McDonalds :)
  8. Full time, although I'm getting a head start on a couple of the courses this summer. How did you find it?
  9. Hey out there! Just wondering if there were any other people who have accepted an offer of admission to Centennial College for the Sept 2012 start Practical Nursing program? Just to introduce myself - I'm Liz, and have accepted Centennials offer. I'm a "mature" student - 33 years old, married with a 7 year old son (as well as a 16 year old). We are fairly new to Scarborough...hoping for a good learning experience. So excited (and terrified) to do this thing and get back to school!!!!
  10. I have been waitlisted for GB ((( I received an offer from Durham, but want to avoid commuting to Oshawa daily as that would be awful. No word yet from Centennial....I'm upset about GB though, it really is my first choice!
  11. Sweets, GB is also my number one choice!!!!!! I also heard back from Humber with the same info, asking me to book test etc, just haven't chosen my date yet. Crossing fingers that we can both get into PN at GB for September!!!
  12. Oh fun...so they want a preliminary mini essay LOL....great
  13. What are the supplementary nursing forms?
  14. I applied yesterday to George Brown (as first choice) for the Sept 2012 start RPN program as well. Obviously haven't heard anything back yet, and don't expect to hear anything for awhile ....admin stuff is always so slow LOL. Fingers crossed though!
